Exactly though, you don’t have to defend if you never get locked in the first place.
Still so much effort to destroy just some AA with barely any rewards, as i mentioned
Damn
A-7E is cool, A-6 shouldve been replaced with an F-111.
they coudldve given the A-7E 9M’s to match the Su-25T’s R-73
Their big miss wasn’t introducing the F-4G wild weasel with this update.
I don’t think the A6 should’ve been replaced because it’s iconic SEAD for the US.
Lmao.
That’s complete fiction.
only EA-6B, A-7E has lots of pictures with 4x HARM, its a very iconic US attacker
OSA can guide two at once, but not on separate targets
This doesn’t apply to static AD emplacements set around the map.
The Buks, S-300s and Neebo radars for the Red side are all fixed spawns and don’t come back.
Same for the counterparts on the Blue side.
It should make doing an early game DEAD run against these points very worthwhile… But the Shilkas and Gepards are magically capable of lightning reflexes and omniscient targeting and will shoot down any guided ordnance… Or you if you try to do it manually.
You also only need to hit the radar vehicles (and the Buks TELAR because “balance”, should have only put the TEL vehicle on the map)
I honestly haven’t even managed to even see a SA-6 with a TGP(they are fairly constant on my RWR though), I just don’t have access to airframes with sufficient guided ordnance(F-111 has 4x GBU-15 / AGM-130, F/A-18A has 2x Walleye, F-14B has 4x JDAM, A-7E is too slow) to get past all the SA-8s; and they don’t seem to pop in until I get fairly close to their threat range. Not that I’ve really tried too hard. Really the Convoys should only have Cannon equipt SPAA, and Strela’s really shouldn’t be able to attack ordnance either.
Though I’m pretty sure that the SA-6 does come back, just on a much longer timer than the static SA-8 & SA-10. And I basically make no headway due to the fact that the round trip to go get more Walleyes can take a few minutes once the initial bases are lost, and the mobile SA-8’s are very hard to reliably even engage with rockets (made worse by lacking access to HE warheads).
They don’t shoot down everything guided, try using something that can achieve an area track, not point tracking.
I guess there are also dedicated SA-6 TELs too, but there probably isn’t a model for them in game.
ever tried f4 j
Use the Sea or mountains and go around the Frontline.
I’ve been using these labeled maps to do essentially pre-planned strikes against them to start the match.
They don’t. 1 and done.
I have had them shoot down AGM-65s, Walleyes, and even an entire volley of SDBs. They are far from correctly tuned.
They are, and are present in the event. They just should be the only ones present in the layouts IMO.
The USA stock planes really need thinking. The F-4E versus the Mig-23MLD doesn’t seem fair. When I play the MiG, the Phantoms are easy kills for nukes.
Especially for the players who don’t have the top tier planes, the E phantom should be replaced with another one with a radar that won’t be defective at the areas in which it will be fighting in.
AIM-9L doesn’t really help too much, since most of the time the MiGs will be fighting you head-on and firing R-24Rs at you.
Sure but what do you swap them out for?
F-4J/S limit the available A2G & Nuclear stores (and the added HMD complicates things) significantly. Also AIM-7F is a bit of a step up over the R-24 & R-27 (baseline), and the prospective event only addition of the AIM-9L would bring things together awkwardly with the semi-recessed + Wing pylon stations of the Navy F-4s giving a much greater magazine depth to SARHs as a baseline ontop of option for longer range missiles.
So it’s not a trade that doesn’t somewhat alter the balance.
The A-6 for the F-105 or F-111A, presented their own issues with the F-105 lacking flares, and the F-111A being much slower than the Su-24.
And the F-111F being so much faster (~Mach 1.35 on the deck) it’s not funny being able to outrun basically everything short of a diving MiG-25.
Basically unless you reach for specific and novel early configurations of the Teen series of airframes and ignore FM there aren’t really better options, but that only really reflects the problem onto the other side.
There are no seeker changes between live and the mode for the 9L / R-60M, the R-60M has been better seeker wise to the 9L for about 2 years now.
I’m seriously surprised people are only somehow realizing that the R-60M is different now, I guess Russian players have not touched them in too long.
Even after the supposed ammo changes they just keep firing too, you flat out have to expend almost a full load of a A-10C’s SBDs to even take out a single Osa.
that is the issue, maybe they can step up the IR missiles to 9m to give it an advantage in IR missiles to compensate for the worse radar, radar missiles, and flight model
or improve the F4E radar because it it unusable near the ground currently
The vehicles in the event are actually seperate from the existing vehicles in the game, therefore they can modify the available loudouts & weaponry for them. So they could pick the F-4J but give it not as good armament.
Nope.
Absolutely garbage plane.
Why? The MiG-21Bis is FAR better than the F-4E. This was especially clear in the deep strike and SEAD events.
Isn’t the F-4E already a better nuker than the Su-24?
ehh
id say they are about equal
the F4E has the better flight model and has some radar missiles that can help
but the SU24 has a lot better fuel capacity and burns a lot less, so it can just sit on full afterburner while the F4E cant and is therefor significantly slower and easier to catch up to
the other issue is that the F4E is trying to nuke against the MLD which is faster and better armed than it, while the SU24 is trying to nuke against the F4E which means as long as it spams flares and dodges the headon it can get through easily
When 4 of 4 matches got 29s and 141s spawncamping over the airfield you know there is something fishy.
Anyway, usa side op cuz more people there XD.
The SU-24 is also a swing wing and has vastly superior on deck performance which is key for the suicide nuke rushes.
US airfield AA in this mode outright just does nothing. I seriously do not understand how people think the Flakrad is even remotely equivalent to the OSA. They are flakpanzer 1s firing Roland 2s, they outright have 50% of the range and way less G loading.
