Its a bit of a menace, it “works” at 10.7, but by all means its got 10.3 written all over it. In what world is the TH the same br as the J-7D and 35XS?

I really feel like gaijin wanted to pull another Su-25 or A-10 moment where they introduce a jet with all aspect missiles on a lower br than they think it should be on purpose then uptier it after people spend money to get it a couple days later… but this time it was actually fine at that lower br
the missiles are no where near as potent as the aim9L, but i would take this over the A-6E or (GOD FORBID the a-7k).
its a great low speed dogfighter and for some reason the 27mm mauser (which i personally have had horrid experience with) is actually great now? did they buff it?

They fixed mauser shells passing through planes but its still not as deadly as a defa

Another gripe ive got is the Ayit is allowed to run rampant at 9.3 with its longer range missiles, gunpods, and higher top speed, yet japan gets the alpha jet nerfed before its first week? seems kind of biased to me!

As I said, gaijin probably just planned to do the all aspect shenanigans of the Su25 and A10 all over but failed miserable
The funny thing is that even if they added it at 9.7 it still wouldn’t be as op as the Su-25 was on release despite having 2x the missiles

The problem is the aim9j is an awful missile, it doesnt have the range for suprise attacks nor the G pull for an “off boar shot”. it would be fine at 10.3, if not even 10.0 (mirage iii gets the magic 1 at 10.0)

Only planes that can’t really dodge it are Yak-38s, everything else in that entire BR range can just roll and pull to dodge it even in a head on (Or straight up flare it)
We may at least get better engines though.

I know but I mean will it bring a dratic change to the plane current state?
I can’t really tell at the moment, we’ve to wait ne see how much it will affect the flight model, but its at least something to make both, if not just the AJ TH more unique. I also don’t think its going to stay at 10.7 personally, 10.3 seemed fine to me.

It should fsfs, if the MiG-27 is at 11.3, that thing should too.
Watch gaijin overreact and put it to 10.0 then it will perform too well and go back to 10.7 or even 11.0
It’s undertiered. This is a welcome change. The German one is also abit low.
have you played either? neither are “undertiered”.
These missiles are pretty poor even against flareless aircraft. if the F-8U is 10.3, no reason why this should be any higher!

Mini update on this aircraft and my experience with it
I have played nothing BUT this alpha jet for 2 days straight now. its really good… like, REALLY good. I am yet to loose a 1 v 1 with anything (F-5E, 35XS, MiG21, MiG23) in a regular air RB match. whether its skill or enemy incompetence i don’t know. However, its main reason for it being at 10.7 in the first place is the all aspect missiles.
long story short, they are pretty Sh*t. you cant do the crazy stuff the Aim9L or R60M does in a headon. The best luck was to wait till 0.9km or under and fire. if they flare it its a 50/50 if it proxies. fire it from any further or from any angle besides dead head on, it just curveballs around the enemy (where as a 9l would have hit every time)
This aircraft isnt the same case as the A10s with their OP missiles they smack down anything without countermesures. you struggle to kill anything rear aspect above 2km. the 20g pull means they really are not great in close quarters. AND the airframe being slow already is not helping the case.
I can see this air-frame being lowered to 10.3. Any lower and it would clap the subsonic flareless aircraft, but right now, it struggles against full teams of much stronger performance (and even missiles - J-7D with its PL-5B at the same rating??? MiG21 BIS with 6 R60M at 11.0??? even lower ratings like the Aim9D on the F-8U with its range and supersonic platform to match!)
Its “good” where it is, even with matches being 90% 11.7 games, it performs well by excelling in low speed dogfight performance, and most enemies fall right into the trap of rate fighting you and you just crawl up to their rear and eventually get the free-est gun kill ever or your team mops them up (annoying but you can get wins in)
To summarize, I love this jet and i have had some amazing matches in it. i really hope it moves to 10.3 where it is meant to be, but don’t let it being at 10.7 discourage you from giving it ago.
