Hello everyone,
I would like to suggest a feature that could improve the marketplace experience for console players.
Currently, console players cannot directly buy Gaijin Coins, which prevents them from fully participating in the marketplace. A possible solution could be a system similar to the one used in the Rainbow Six Marketplace.
Suggestion:
Allow console players to purchase Gaijin Coins through the main menu of the game, similar to how Golden Eagles are already bought. The purchase could be processed through the platform store (PlayStation / Xbox), but the coins would then be added to the player’s Gaijin account.
Additionally, players could still have the option to buy Gaijin Coins through the Gaijin website if they prefer managing purchases there.
How it could work:
Add a “Buy Gaijin Coins” option in the main menu.
The purchase works similarly to buying Golden Eagles.
After buying, the Gaijin Coins are added to the player’s account.
Console players can then use the marketplace like PC players.
Benefits:
Console players get full access to the marketplace economy.
More activity and liquidity in the marketplace.
A system that is already proven to work in other games.
Easier access for players who mainly play on console
I think this would make the marketplace more accessible and fair for everyone across all platforms.
Microsoft and Sony are the ones that have the rules in place that are keeping Gaijin from doing this. You need to take it up with them. This is similar to the Fortnite/apple app store stuff
I understand that Microsoft and Sony have platform policies that make this difficult. However, my suggestion isn’t about bypassing those rules, but about finding a system that works within them.
For example, games like Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege already allow console players to participate in their marketplace ecosystem through systems that still respect platform store rules. The idea would be similar: purchases would still go through the PlayStation or Xbox store, just like buying Golden Eagles already does
So the proposal isn’t to avoid the platform cut or sell currency externally without their approval. Instead, it would simply allow console players to buy Gaijin Coins through the in-game store, which would then be tied to their Gaijin account and usable on the marketplace.
Right now console players are effectively locked out of a big part of the economy in War Thunder, even though they play the same game and events as PC players. A platform-compliant solution could make the marketplace accessible to everyone while still respecting Microsoft and Sony’s policies.
So the goal of the suggestion is mainly to start a discussion about possible platform-friendly implementations, not to ignore the existing rules.
Doesnt solve the issue. You would use this coin to buy something (like premium vehicle pack) and Sony/Microsoft would again want their cut because transaction occured.
