Don’t tell him about the modifications You have to research!
The grind is definitely excessive when we have 10 nations with 10 ground trees, air trees, naval trees and helicopter trees for the most part, but you can grind a tree faster than you can get bushes or a level 150 crew.
lmao
Buddy. Just because it is realistic, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t a cosmetic option. It has nothing todo with whether it is realistic or not.
And as explained. Grinding the event is not feasible for someone that doesn’t play the game day in, day out.
Your statement doesn’t change the fact that bushes offer and unfair advantage for real life money, which is pay to win. If they actually made the bushes easy to get, by simply buying a pack for SL and then having access to put them on your tank, then no one would have a problem.
It is not a matter of opinion, it is a matter of facts.
As long as bushes are advertised as a cosmetic option, which they are according to Gaijin themselves, there is simply no reason for why I shouldn’t be able to toggle them off, same as other cosmetic options.
That argument is completely past the point. This is exactly why we have battle ratings and ranks so that specific vehicles cannot go up against each other. The grinding through tech trees itself is also perfectly fine, because that is completely free and has an optional pay to progress mechanic. You are not locked out from specific tech tree vehicles AND unlike bush grinding you are not time gated, you can start researching a tank and that progress will stay for the rest of your life. Whilst with the bushes you have to go through the battle pass which is time gated and will reset if you don’t play enough. If you had to pay real money for lets say the T-80U in the tech tree to progress to the T-80BVM, then it would be pay to win. If a BR 1.0 vehicle could meet a 11.7 vehicle in a regular match, then it would be pay to win. But neither of that is the case.
Bushes on the other hand are a “cosmetic” option locked behind a paywall, that you COULD grind through a very tedious and long process of playing the game, which, probably more than 70% of the playerbase can not physically do without throwing their life away.
Always funny when people who waste $2000 on a PC think they deserve an advantage in a game because of it.
Wiesel/Marder/ASU-57/fox/eland/whatever other incredibly small vehicle covered in bushes makes no difference for spotting it, surely.
You can play year-round, at your own pace, playing whatever you want and however you want (within limits of Rank, rank -1 requirement) and obtain tier 8 vehicles eventually.
You can take a 2 week break and then go back and continue.
You can take a 2 month break and go back to continue.
You lose zero progress, you may get a new vehicle added in between that you need to grind out on top but that’s a rarity and there’s grace periods (plus, you’ll get 1 more vehicle).
Battlepass?
You have 90-120 days where most of the challenges for easy progress are limited to 2 weeks - so if you don’t play during the first or second months, you’re SOL and have lost an easy 12-15 levels of BP. Last bush BP I came back from my many-year-long break at the last month. I had zero chances to even begin working towards it.
This BP I came back in late august and missed out all the easy BP challenges around just killing players, getting score and capturing zones or finishing games as top 3. Some I could catch the end of it, but 2 days versus 2 weeks makes a large difference for things like “kill 150 players” assuming you can even average 5 kills/match.
So. Let’s say you do join the bush battlepass at the first day and start working on it. You reach level 40 battlepass, did the 12 special tasks required. You however have something come up that means you cannot play for a month or two.
All those 40 days of progress? Gone. Down the drain. As if it didn’t even exist. Worse than gone arguably as you spent 12*30 warbonds on medals you couldn’t cash in, making your next battlepass harder.
I am confident it does not take a genius to see the problem here.
And I havn’t even talked about the absurd RNG of daily tasks where you can get tasks that take like 2-3 battles (get 12 air kills in ARB, get 8 kills as SPG, get 8 kills as heavy tank, 12 kills as medium) or tasks that will take you - at minimum - ~50-75 minutes (win 5 battles, assuming 10-15 minute matches and winning all 5 of them. More realistic is 100-150 minutes assuming 50% win rate or the truly absurd of getting repairs or getting a kill in 3 different vehicles and winning. Even “According to intelligence” is a very dumb task as you got zero control over it.)
A $2,000 USD computer these days is capable of running WT on medium settings with no issue. It’s more along the lines of folks not absolutely stuck in broke gang who use it just because of the advantages they get.
Would removing it screw over the broke gang? Absolutely.
Still needs to be done. However, unfortunately, Gaijin won’t do it. So the rest of us are screwed in that regard.
Then just use ULQ if you feel that wasting $2000 on a PC is screwing you over
There really needs to be more restrictions on where/how you can place bushes. It’s bullshit that you can place them on the very tip of a BMP, or on any other tank.
Also, crew skills are more pay to win than bushes.
Well first off I play primarily on console; Xbox Series X. Consoles can’t change the graphics, not that I would anyways. I have some pride as a gamer, after all.
Same goes for when I switch to PC. I don’t use ULQ. I don’t need it nor will I use it. My hardware can run on high settings just fine and I don’t need to cheat to do well. If I want to TryHard, I simply change my playstyle - I don’t need to change graphics.
This I agree with wholeheartedly, especially for air.
Putting a high-performance, high instantaneous turn fighter on a low level vs high level crew slot opens up very different maneuvers.
But, in my book it’s still more ethical than bushes.
Why?
You can gain RP towards crew skills and ace crews whenever you want, however you want. You can stop playing, take a break and come back a few months later and continue without any penalty. I could even do “dumb” stuff like play air to progress ground crews or vice versa.
Bushes being locked behind FOMO bollocks like the warbond shop where joining late punishes you, joining early and being unable to finish punishes you, only playing ~for 1 hour or so each day punishes you, only playing 3 hours fri/sat/sun punishes you. Oh and, “After multiple rerolls and dumping over 100K SL on getting a reasonable task - you wanted to play sim today, but you can only complete your BP task in 2 hours by playing ground RB/airRB/navyRB. You don’t have time to play sim after.”
then that’s your own fault for not wanting to change graphics, not ours.
They don’t.
Learn to play the game.
If you have hardware that can run WT outside of ULQ but you do it anyways for the cheap advantages you’re just a lowly cheater unworthy of respect. A blight upon the title of gamer and poor excuse for a human being.
If you’re some second or third-world citizen running WT on ULQ because you’re running some obsolete slagheap from 1995 well, you’re just flatout unlucky. I still don’t excuse such folks naturally by principle, but those poor souls literally have no other choice.
XD you sound like the Germans complaining about trench sweepers.
That’s quite a stretch but I’ll grant you it’s funny.
Park a wiesel covered in bushes on Seversk near the river. It blends into the server foliage, especially with engine off.
It takes close to 2-3 weeks
