Allow bombers with rocket boosters to spawn with them mid air

As the title suggests, as you may know some planes gets rocket boosters if it spawns at the airfield. But i say it should be able to spawn with them mid air too, it would make these planes much more versitile and there is not real reason for it to be unable to

How do you fit boosters in mid air? They were fitted before it took off?? Well in that case they were used when it took off…

There is not a reason for the Tu-14 to get this in isolation - what about all the other a/c that get boosters at airfields?

You can lift off the plane witchout the boosters, they are just assisting with the takeoff. So in theory you did take off with the boosters but not have used them

Then you get court-martialed for misuse of airforce property due not following SOP’s.

It is a stupid suggestion, too specific, and without any real world application - never mind that WT players mis-use “real world” equipment all the time.

You disproved your own point in your own anwser. As you said in this game equipment is misused all the time in order to achive results in a current situation (or fail to). Clearest example is spaa units going tank hunting. This game has no rules in terms of using the equipment as long as its not against yourself or your teammates (Thats penatilized). So why coudnt you. You already can take off with the boosters on you and fly with them. This suggestions aims to just remove the part where you have to start from the airfield as a bomber. And in terms of other planes that already do start at the airfield? they already do that

Okay well lets take the Kikka for example, its rocket boosters are blocking the undercarriage; you can’t raise the gear without using the rockets, do you want them to spawn in the air with their undercarriage down and boosters on?

as an optional thing yes
why not. its not impossible and can be done. impractical but so are many things

So you give the game an option to air spawn and immediately rip the undercarriage off? (it has AF spawn but on maps it spawns in the air, how would that be fair?) You wouldn’t be able to land properly, and your maneuverability would be hampered. Do you think it’s very viable for an aircraft to fly around with its undercarriage down? Which extra rocket boosters not being used? It’s not viable at all, it will increase fuel burn and is a lot more dangerous.

planes that can takeoff from the runway/retract their gear etc. without using boosters should be able to get an air spawn with those boosters on. Any cool little feature or gimmick that goes unused just leads to less diversification in gameplay and a more boring game.

Seconding this

That implied spawning you with less speed to counteract that, as i said its a gimmick

How do you load armaments onto your aircraft mid-air?
Shouldn’t it have been fitted before take-off?

How do you fuel your aircraft mid-air without a tanker?

Shouldn’t it have been fueled before take-off?

By following this logic, planes spawning in the air should have no fuel, ammo, or armaments…
but then spawning in the air would be useless, wouldn’t it be?

Who cares? This is a videogame.

You don’t see your in-game crew get punished for wrecklessly crash landing onto the airfield, or have them permanently gone if they die, or have to wait hours at a time to get your aircraft repaired.

Let’s take the A-4s, for example.

When you take off, you can choose whether to use it now or keep it for later.
They don’t get automatically ignited, nor do you have to use them (unlike with the Kikka).

For gamemodes like GRB, air spawning and still having the boosters (if you wish to have them) would be pretty neat, and could help you get back to the airfield quicker, or gain a bit more speed and altitude for an attack run.

As for the Kikka (and others like it), if it can’t keep them after take-off, then I understand that it shouldn’t have it ( or have the option to have it) when air spawned in GRB.
