Theres a question whenever airfields shouldnt be moved even further back as to allow safe spawn and rearm point for CAS, but for the most part, SLM is balanced.
Top tier CAS in no longer about mindless bombing but requires a skill to actually fly a plane.
How sad, get into a tank. I can’t wait for Britain’s multi-vehicle system so I can finally join in the no-fly-zone squad. I don’t want CAS to have fun, I want CAS to suffer as I have suffered from the constant fantasy KH-38MT spam. Or the constant maverick spam, or the constant JDAM spam. And why do I suffer against them? Because britain doesn’t have an 11.0 SPAA. (its got the ADATS but that thing is so trash it might as well sit at 10.7, won’t even change how it plays.)
So aircraft are allowed to spawn camp ground units but not vice versa ?
Meanwhile they’re helpless even against 1.0 ground units, so just spawn a tank and deal with them. Maps are small and those vehicles are huge.
Multirole jets can engage pretty much any enemy in the game, meanwhile vehicles like SLM can only engage aircraft, so both of those having the same SP would be hilariously bad.
But a lot of players don’t wanna play it, SPAA is a very boring vehicle bro it feels like watching paint dry, gotta give it to them for being willing to sacrifice their fun to spawn a boring vehicle just to entertain CAS players bro I believe most of them might prefer spawning a tank instead if it weren’t for having to deal with CAS players. A very noble thing to do bro, spawning SPAA and not playing tanks, sacrificed fun…
That is defenitely over the top.
But yea, maybe they should pay a certain amount of SP for every launcher placed or something.
And the bug where SPAA doesn’t emmit radar signals for a few seconds after spawning needs to be fixed finaly.
They closed my bug report for not sending a picture of a missing rwr signale lmao…
While I agree that it’s ridiculous that on some maps the new SPAA can kill you while you are physically on the airfield (I have experienced this myself on Finland) I don’t think they need a spawn point increase.
I think the SP costs should increase for the highest performance SAMs like the IRIS-T SLM and Pantsir in the absence of a decompression and 70 SP is probably too low even after decompression, they should only be increased to around 150-200 SP. About what a Heli with pure A2A costs. This would be the most fair.
I would also like to see CAP reduced in cost to more like 300-400 SP and all SP cost for A2A weapons removed. This would help balance the difference between nations with competitive SPAA and those without

That’s like increasing the SP cost for highest performing MBTs instead of just sorting it out with BR. You would just give Gaijin another way to escape decompression.
We could also allow 2A7 to spawn in a 11.0 game but with an increased SP cost, as some believe balancing things with SP is a valid move.
With the reclassification of the ADATS (by treating it as a Missile TD not a SAM, and so would not be able to get the low SP cost, and separate pool that SPAA receive) due to it’s ability to kill tanks before it was fairly recently reverted.
And more recently the Pantsir took an SP bump as well in full down tiers, as well.
So it’s not unheard of for outliers to be be treated on a case by case basis, where more generic gaming conventions couldn’t account for its “overperformance”.
That’s pretty different as reclassifying SLM as a TD would make absolutely zero sense.
How big was that jump ?
Keep in mind, people here are suggesting double or even more than double increase in SP.
It’s unheard of that vehicles get their SP costs doubled just because they are top performers.
People even suggesting such ridiculous things is beyond me.
