AJ37 what do "Flares/Chaff" mod do?

I had the Flares/Chaff loadout parts available the moment I bought the plane. I just unlocked the “Flares/Chaff” modification but I see no difference. What does this mod do?

I assumed it would increase the amount of flares I can carry, but the amount stayed the same.

It unlocks the ability to carry chaff.

Before the mod, I was able to carry 2x pylons of 24 flares, 340 chaff (so 48 and 640)

after unlocking Flares/Chaff parts, this amount has stayed the same. Am I missing something?

Note: specifically the Swedish AJ37 Viggen

I believe this is because gaijin added 300+ chaff to the AJ37 last patch iirc in the pods that it carries and you get these stock perhaps? It’s probably an oversight
