Airfield defense

Moresby yeah, Sinai has enough combat zone imho, and bases don’t get close enough for airfield to engage.

There is one or 2 bases that spawn down in the very bottom left that you need to be at the very least be aware that they are near the AF.

Hmm, I don’t know, Sinai is my least favorite for event grinding, too big of a map for quick engagement of PvE or PvP unless you’re top tier or using the F-14.

Yeha, not a map I play often either, but when its the only option its fine

this doesn’t apply to air RB only air SB so ppl running to base cause they are last is somewhat irrelevant

Airfield defense is shared across all game modes…

The way these systems can be implemented cannot be added to air rb literally because the maps are too small and you will die to enemy air defense before you even see a enemy aircraft

Hints the whole topic we were talking about Simulator battles specifically air simulator battles where maps are larger and actually have a chance to work within regular gameplay

Which is why it doesn’t make sense in any other mode…

Only really due to Gaijin lazyness. But ASB did lag behind ARB so its entirely possible for the gamemodes to have unique setups for this. heck only ASB has modular AFs

Though until we get bigger maps, I dont think heavy SAM sites on AFs is a good idea. But maybe as an occasional independent SEAD objective… Could be fun

Can’t wait for HARM’s and the like

Yeah, should be fun, after a year or two of bugs.

Can finally get revenge on those pesky Gerpards in the Convoys, Though still gunna need something for the SIDAM-25s

A nerf for the SIDAM

No manually aimed SPAA vehicle should be that accurate; especially on fast targets and at range.

What do you mean a SPAAG without any kind of automated guidance assist cant instantaneously snipe a fast moving aircraft 5km away?

It looks like it is still possible to bomb airfields in Simulator Battles at BR 10.7 and above using, for example, napalm.

On the opposing team, a player in a Su-25K managed to completely destroy the entire airfield.

Not to mention the poor cockpit sight, which at that altitude is practically invisible during level flight.

He used ccrp for sure on that run so really no need for the cockpit sight

But you do realize this is się sim, right? There is no external view, and CCRP is indicated via the HUD or the cockpit sight.

If you designate the target with the CCRP in advance and maintain your heading, it works quite well, even in a Su-25. On some other aircraft, you can even “cheat” slightly with a laser designator that allows you to determine the point.

Now imagine if instead of modular area targets we could/would have to kill all individual aircraft shelters and individual buildings instead of just dumping the bombs on 1x1km areas…
