As most of you know, test flights are a useful way to practice without having to enter an actual match. Personally, more should use it since every other match I see someone crashing with a VTOL aircraft at spawn. However, carrier spawns are currently inconsistent depending on the aircrafts designation, whether Gaijin has specifically added the carrier spawn option.
Normally, aircraft designated as “Naval Aircraft” can spawn on a carrier during test flights, which is especially useful for practicing carrier takeoffs, arrested landings, and generally its an enjoyable thing to have. Unfortunately, most other aircraft do not have this feature, even though a lot are capable of operating off a carrier regardless if they were historically used as naval aircraft or not. I find this really frustrating, because there is no practical way to properly practice carrier landings in a test flight if the carrier does not spawn.
I think the carrier should simply be available as a test flight spawn option for all aircraft, regardless of their rank, nation, or exact ingame designation. The aircraft being marked “Naval Aircraft” could still be used as the automatic way to enable the option, but the system should be expanded so that every aircraft receives it consistently.
This would also make it easier to test aircraft that historically operated from carriers but may not have been classified under the exact “Naval Aircraft” designation used by the game. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who would enjoy recreating the Doolittle Raid.
So my request is: Please make aircraft carriers available in test flights for every aircraft, rather than limiting the feature based on rank or specific aircraft designation. It would make testing and practicing carrier aircraft considerably more useful and would avoid having to use a full match or test client just to practice landing on a floating runway.
