[Would you like to see this in-game?]
This is mostly a topic for jets in air simulators where I spend most of my time. Spawn camping is a big problem with the jets where you can reach to the enemy airfield in just a few minutes. Quite often I have seen people are aiming for kills rather than winning the game or surviving. Recently, I have even seen a few players respawning in their own airfield, rushing to our airfield, getting a kill, then get killed by AAA. One had 20 something kills and close to 30 deaths.
Whether they are unaware of the fact that surviving while collecting points doing various tasks in the game (useful actions) is how you maximize your RP and SL or they simply do not care. Regardless, introducing a respawn timer would at least minimize this kind of behavior which is quite a big problem for many people where they get killed continuously and simply quitting to play where they think they are doing something wrong or simulators is too hard for them.
In many games we have this feature where if you get killed continuously, your respawn timer gets longer. Numbers are just for examples but say you get killed in the first 5 minutes of your spawn, you have to wait a minute to respawn and got killed again in 5 minutes, you have to wait 2 minutes etc.
And since we can bring multiple planes at the same time to a battle with similar BR, if you have a respawn timer on one vehicle, you can respawn with the other one with no penalty. This would also encourage people to play different roles with different aircrafts.
I would love to hear everone’s opinion about this.
Regards, and as always gl hf yall!
This would punish the people being spawncamped, not the spawncampers.
I’ve had times where I spawned in on an aircraft carrier, was checking the map to decide where to fly and then boom - aircraft carrier exploded under me.
Or spawned in on the runway and was waiting for engine to spool and… carpet bombs.
With the current system I can just shrug and go next to a uncontested airfield.
With your system, I could not.
And line-ups is not a good argument. While viable at prop tiers, with jets you’ll likely only afford a single crew slot due to the enormous costs (compared to SL gain as a pure interceptor/fighter).
Crewing a rank 5/6 jet costs around 100-200K. Plus, often you end up with just a single viable aircraft within a given bracket (your next plane is a whole BR step lower or a playstyle you don’t care for (groundpounder planes for me.)

First of all, thank you for your insight. Second, many people use line-ups and it is actually fun to play different roles in the same map. The fact that you don’t enjoy ground pounding aircrafts does not mean that we all do not like it as well. And whether it is costly or not is irrelevant to the topic as you can argue that even buying the aircraft for a million SLs is costly, that is a different subject.
However, you do make a good argument saying it would punish the other side at the same time so then i would suggest putting a respawn timer on the people being killed by AI. As the AAA’s are there to keep the enemy away, this would add another layer of protection for the spawncamped while if you are in the middle of the map died dogfighting, you can simply respawn.
And i will have to say that the current situation on the jet tiers are definitely messy and something has to be done.
Regards and happy new year’s!
Hi my reply is not relevant to this topic
But I want to see the other player’s view in the replay feature which was available before but now it is not there. It is very important for everyone who wants to learn from the best player of the team and the way they fight.
I raised the suggestion but it looks like there is nothing going on.
Please will you help me to convey this message to WT.
Spawn camping is a problem but I don’t think this is the best solution since, as previously stated, it will affect everyone not just the root of the problem.
An alternative could be layered AA around airfields at a much further distance so you can’t loiter in the airspace but maps might be too small and it’d result in interlocking AA cover for 1/4th of the map which some people might not like.
I think you should get a respawn timer if you get killed by the Airfield AA. there is no reasonable explaination on why you should be near it unless you want to Spawnkill. otherwise it would just kill airsim even faster than it already is dying
sorry for grammar
