[Air-Sim] Is there a way to use the “Mouse Joystick” mode when only using a xbox controller?

Hi,
I am fairly experienced playing air sim using mouse and keyboard using the control mode “Mouse Joystick” and
I wonder is there a way to use the “Mouse Joystick” mode when only using a xbox controller?
(playing on a handheld gaming PC).
I tried several control preset but found no success.

Thank you!

you have a controller with multiple axis… use that like a proper pilot…

Thanks, I can do that without any problem, but I find that very tedious if all I do in air-sim is bombing bases(for grinding).
So if I can use the “Mouse Joystick” mode that will be a hude relief to me.

What do you mean by “Mouse joystick” because I feel there might be some different definitions used based on your comment here.

Do you mean the ability to input a given pitch/roll, let go and have the “stick” stay in place like that?

You can achieve that with trimmers. It’s a bit finicky without analogue axis inputs (wheels or sliders), but if you toy with sensitivity, multiplier and non-linearity you can find something you enjoy.

(You should be using trimmers even with mouse joystick in fact. Making it so that you can bind “Center mouse joystick” and have it actually stop your roll, yaw and pitching motion (or make you pitch down for safety) can make a pretty big difference in flight potential. It’s particularly helpful if you get disoriented while looking around.)

you should have bought a steam deck :p
