Air Sim EC gamemode into Air RB

When do you going to make Air Sim EC gamemode into Air RB? We need it now. All those 120’s spacespam is no longer fun. And sim is just a little to much for my taste.

If you think the “120 spacespam” doesn’t happen in Air Sim I’ve got an AMRAAM to sell you haha.

But jokes aside, a separate gamemode for Air RB EC wouldn’t be bad… If memory serves, there used to be an event for it and it went well according to the people I’ve heard that played it. But that was probably before everyone had access to ARH missiles, so…

I played ARBEC in 2018/2019. It was the best game mode WT ever had. Period.

Few tweaks here and there. New objectives. Expanded maps for +12.0 and I guarantee you, that nobody would look back on the current 10 year old betatest that is ARB we have now.

Judging from Captain Squishface’s top tier air EC videos, EC doesn’t fix top tier missile at all.

I do love EC, it makes props a lot more fun to play, but EC alone does not fix missile thunder. I do think RB EC would be swell

when it gets 12/13 bracket it gets BRUTAL super fast in sim.

Okay but AAB EC when :)

The issue is the maps aren’t big enough even in top tier air sim

There are 3.major issues with ARB

  • maps are too “narrow”
  • everyone takes off from a single point
  • maps are too small

SIM deals with 2 of those issues which greatly limits issues like 16x 4-8 fox-3s being fired across map at the start of the game but the maps are still too small to provide any meaningful travel time for the Mach 1.5 jets like the F-15 with a 40km reach.

Time for 256x256km maps I think. Tbh, needed for the last 2 years

In fairness, spending most of the battle doing jack shit is boring as hell.

There is a balance. Currently it takes around 4 minutes for an F-15E to go from 1 side of the map to the other. Doubling the map size would in theory only increase that to around 8 minutes.

Now of course maps being wider also means that going diagonally takes a lot longer but with radars being able to easily track targets 100km away, it’s not that big of a deal.

Also opens up some options for some really interesting maps. Like for example the whole of the Falklands is only about 200km² add on some decent ocean around it and it’s an awesome EC map.

Now of course I would hope bigger maps came with a total PvE overhaul with at least 2x more objective types but ideally more like 3-4x more objective types. Include radar sites and AWACS and you have a really interesting gamemode for these very fast jets.

As much as I’m excited for it, typhoon could be really boring because you have 0 travel time and it’s just back to back fights with no breathers. Kinda like the FRS1 because you get some downtime

Only for the current 13.3 planes+, but I agree. We also need multiple spawnpoints and airfields like sim.

I wouldn’t really want to play on one of those in a 12.7 Mig-29 since I’d have to stay subsonic for most of the match to conserve fuel. It also isn’t fun facing F-15Es with 4 times as many good missiles.

Id personally be fine with bigger maps (maybe not the biggest sized maps but maybe like 160km² maps) from as low as 10.0. Especially with fuel tanks being more common.

Proper fuel management and not just sitting on max reheat the entire time does add an extra layer to sim. Especially if combined with night battles where reheat makes you way more visible.

I think that would be a great size for 10.3+, but I don’t think it should be the default. We also need 12v12 matches as the maximum above 9.0, it just isn’t fun otherwise.

True, but it isn’t very fun when common enemies can easily outrun/prevent you from getting close to you if their fuel can last for more than 4 minutes.

Yeah, always should have a variety. With the limited number of maps we already have. I wouldnt propose replacing maps. But instead future maps to be larger. with a push to have 3-4 new maps / map variants that are the 256km² for top tier ASAP

and yeah, 2 ways to reduce density, increase map sizes or reduce team sizes. Why 12v12 isnt the default in everything above about 8.0 is beyond me.

Yeah, this is an issue. Feel this in the Tornado sometimes as it has one of the highest reheat fuel burns in the game. (The average is around 600%, the Tornado is 700%)
