Air Sim 101

If you are new to Sim, first off, welcome. It is a fantastic game mode and once you learn how to play it, you will find that it is very satisfying.

That being said, there is a massive learning curve when it comes to Sim.
First and foremost, if someone pings the map in your grid square, please identify yourself using the (T,4,1) method. If you fail to do so after someone pings your grid square, you run the risk of getting sniped by your own teammate. I can not count the number of times I have seen this both being the victim and the unfortunate team killer myself.

Sad to say, most new sim players ive come across don’t want help, I’ve been insulted a few time trying to offer help. Seems like new sim players only play sim to bomb airbases and red circles. Most matches I’ve been in this week have been full of only zombers on both side, airbases campers at higher alt avoiding ALL base defences just to lob fire & forget ordinances onto players that just spawned or are taking off. Sadly I think sim is on its way out the door or soon to be removed.

The radio command is “Follow me”, for those on console or who don’t have default controls on PC.

Just get into the habit of using the Follow me command whenever a teammate uses the same command. It’s most useful before chasing an unidentified plane (to avoid having teammates chasing you around), and before launching a missile at it (especially if no radar IFF is available). It is much easier to interpret than a random “Attention to the grid square”, it gives the whole team more info for situational awareness and it helps avoiding friendly fire incidents. Don’t be that guy who gets teamkilled because you didn’t answer to a nearby ping.
