For me, particularly, with this Tusk update, the default airspawn on so many more maps is definitely a continuing disappointment in the progression of AirRB. It’s been colloquially called Arcade+ for many years, but now one-life-arcade might be more valid unfortunately.

Whilst France 1944 was officially taken out of rotation, Huerttgen was completely changed and the other 2 just vanished…

It depends, with heavy clouds the Britain map is a nightmare. It depends (as always) on your team composition.

The second match was quite entertaining.
The usual airfield camping and a pretty nice 2 vs 3. I witnessed an excellent 109 pilot fighting 2 Cannonstangs at the same time -rare case👍

Yep. It’s just another in the long list of changes that have made this game feel less and less captivating over the years. There should be no airspawns apart from interceptors and bombers.
I guess they added air spawn for fighters because some peoples can’t even takeoff and we usually saw them.
The difficulty of a gamemode is what defines the skill of its playerbase. Making realistic easier will attract arcade randoms who have no idea what they’re doing and less skilled players is not what realistic needs. Letting unskilled players have fun is precisely what arcade is for
Well, I promised pictures to Friday, but I could only have such maps today.
I had two maps where the starting from airfield was no option:
- Poland
- Stalingrad.
Unfortunatly, I can’t send pictures, because I have a very complicated technique on my notebook on how to take printscreens and sometimes it messes up. And now it’s sometimes…

In case you are not happy with air spawns on 3 bases maps (and some 4 bases maps) you might support this post:
It sorta is realistic to have an air spawn, in a real battle fighters would take off away from the combat zone so that the airfield is protected. Also a lot of combat would be unexpected when fighters have already climbed to high altitudes. Would anyone be open to a bomber attack game mode being implemented where the main goal is to stop bombers from reaching a base? This is what aviation was in early wars, and it would bring bombers back into the game. Losing all bombers would be a defeat but having any survivors would result in victory for the attackers
