Air RB - Performance Guide -2025 changes & details

Flight Performance Guide Changes:

*MEC settings may show as being a few kph slower than AEC but that is because the settings are tuned to not exceed a certain color of overheat noted in the guide aircraft details. It will be noted as “MEC settings will not exceed yellow overheat when using WEP”. The WEP time estimates and healing times are in the guide details.

*MEC settings generally provide a much longer, and predictable WEP duration compared to AEC. MEC settings now prioritize maximizing WEP in White if possible, then Yellow and finally Orange.

*MEC incorporates on/off power cycles to heal/recover the engine providing a predictable healing/recovery time since the radiator is at a set value.

*MEC basically lets you run much longer in WEP and when you need to you can simply on/off power cycle your engine to heal/recover it.

*AEC generally when using WEP, will usually close the radiator and temperature spike the engine into the orange and in many cases into the red/flashing red. When WEP is disengaged it usually fully opens the radiators having the same effect as an airbrake.

*AEC will also close the radiator completely when powering down or throttling down, counterproductive for cooling effect making engine healing/recovery unpredictable and less effective.

*Added fuel amounts for testing.

*Added WEP time when applicable

*Added Overheat time in each color threshold.

*Added Overheat thresholds by color (yellow/orange/red)

*Added Time wear when applicable

*Added WEP climb times to 7000m

*Added WEP top speed at 1000m,3000m and 6000m

*Adjusted mixture where applicable. Mixture settings need consideration for high speed up to wing rip speed instead of level flight top speed. Noticeable difference in hp between the two.

*All aircraft seem to have increase in speed (approx 30-50kph) when contrails appear on wingtips while turning adjusted accordingly. (AKA, Min Ideal Turn Speed).

*Auto trim has been fixed for most aircraft flying with flight stick, some still unstable (i-16 type 27 and 28 are still very unstable)

*Flight stick elev/pitch sensitivity increased overall. 64% base value for elev/pitch now.

*P-39N-0: Changed: worse climb rate. MEC radiator settings changed.

The FM of many aircrafts seem to have changed in tusk force, e.g. increased drag on p47 and p51s, faster k4 and 3U. Any comments?

I would have to test those airframes to verify. I’ll set aside some time and do some spot testing to see if there really is a change or if they just fiddled with radiator settings or something else.

I’ll get back to you with accurate info soon.

Quick update:
I’ll poke around and see what the differences are across the board but I’ll wait 2 to 4 weeks to do proper flight tests. I’m sure gaijin will adjust something here or there and I’d rather wait and have an accurate evaluation.

Btw the wyvern is very suspect of a weight nerf and I suspect the drag of the p47s might be a flaps issue. I’ll investigate as soon as I have the time.
