Notice that after the missile’s engine shuts down, it seems like an air brake is deployed, and the missile starts losing speed very rapidly. I can’t understand why. Why does it lose around 500 km/h in just a matter of seconds?

For comparison, I’ve attached a video below of Starship landing in the ocean. The rocket is doing everything it can to slow down, yet it still struggles to bleed off speed. Even a house-sized rocket falling belly-first with huge flaps doesn’t lose speed that quickly.
