LMFAO, good luck with that. You should play some Air RB when you get back, I’d love the free kills.
And TWS wont give a lock warning.
STT will be more reliable and accurate. Its a give an take.
4:18, the AIM-120A is faster and has a longer range than AIM-7M. Anything else is nonsense.
Are you not able to it? Get close to the ground, once the missile is close to the ground, quickly pop your nose down. The missile will try to lead you and hit the dirt.
This doesn’t work with fox-3s. I’ve done that with the early fox-1s, but this just never really works. Plus, you really do need to realize how much of a disadvantage you’re really putting yourself at.
Is there a test for targets that are trying to bleed the missile’s energy? I dont doubt the aim120 can outrange a target flying straight.
Then i will tell you my experience in 1v1 with both missile:
-AIM-7M: Its bad, in an upwards spiral it just doesnt have the thrust and the pull to get to the enemy, and in close range (500m) is just not manouver enough to get to the enemy.
-AIM-120: “The missile knows were it is […]”
As soon as Fox-3s come out, all of a sudden people don’t think the AIM-7 is a bad missile anymore… What happened?
That is a GREAT video! Thank you for this one ^^
I thought the aim7 was good prior to the aim120. They are my favorite radar missile.
To be fair, gaijin did sort of break them with the whole randomly going on an adventure thing.
Have in mind its outdated, they buffed/nerfed all the Fox3
The AIM-120A has loft so the loft mechanism prevents the missile from bleeding too much speed at longer ranges. And at higher altitude where the missile is lofting too, less speed is bled when turning than AIM-7M in thicker air. There’s only one SARH that outperforms the AIM-120A kinetically and that is the R-27ER.
Maybe it is confirmation bias, but I find the AIM120s are much better in rear aspect aswell
Yeah, you can like them, but its just a fact that the AIM-120 is better.
They did buff the AIM-120A better in range and speed since that video, so it outperforms the AIM-7M even more.
I haven’t tested the new loft mechanism of AIM-120A in rear aspect enough to say much, but I would suspect it performs nicely.
I just find the aim7 to be more consistant in getting kills. Im sure the aim120 works better at close range but i have not had much luck with any past like 12km.
For targets that are actually at their keyboard at least. Zombers still eat them at range.
probably bad launch parameters lol.
It sort of sounds like you are using it wrong more than anything else.
Not sure what are good launch parameters than. I usually climb to 6km then fire them at targets around 30km out who are flying toward me. That is how i use around 80% of my aim120s.
