So I tested the aim7m out and I almost hit a 50km head on shot with it. (Missile lost track 1.5km away) so a 45 km head on shot is a 100% kill. (If the enemy doesn’t notch) Now I’ll find the range for aim120 head on 10k m altitude to make it fair. But I’m sure the aim120 won’t hit
Okay suprisingly I was wrong. The aim120 did manage to hit a 50km shot. I guess its because of the missile flying high so it flys trough the thin air. So yeah aim120 has better range than aim7m but only because of that.
I sended both of them from 50.6km away in a head on onto a mig 15 in the test drive on the same map (italien test drive) MY altitude was 10km and I sended both of with a angel of 20 degrees.
You’d be a little crazy to use ANY SARH over an AMRAAM. The AMRAAM (or any other ARH) can force you defensive and make you abandon your missile. That is, if you want to survive. Then he can keep forcing you defensive and you’re constantly on the backfoot lol.
If you’ve used the AIM-120, you know that it accelerates significantly faster. My literal first thought when i first used the AIm-120 on the F-16C is “Wow, thats WAY faster than a sparrow”. The stat card may say Mach 4 for both, but lets remember the stat cards are hardly ever accurate.
AND forces you defensive unless you think your sparrow is unbeatable and you’re dead set on guiding it.
Depends on alt. At low alt, i trust i can dodge the missile while keeping a lock.
Delusion. What?
No is not lmao, it’s literally worse in every way.
The only thing it has is that it uses the plane’s radar lock. Thats literally IT
Not even that, because you can just keep the lock after launch and use it as a SARH missile
The interal radar overrides the plane radar. Once pitbulled, there is no reason to maintain a radar lock.
And you’d probably hit the Sparrow thrower before he hits you, and his missile would go stupid.
You’re really gonna die on this hill? Do you wanna try it in a custom, bro?
Did gaijin mess up the arh tracking to make the plane radar override the missile’s radar?
Do you want to try it in a custom, bro?
it doesnt really matter, unless you notch it, you are eating that missile, you have never used a Sparrow in a 1v1, because if not you would agree with us
At least IRL he is correct, if Gaijin has it modeled so that the planes radar has priority then they have modeled it wrong.
I don’t actually know how it works in game currently though.
If you dont mind waiting about 2 weeks as i am on vacation.
I can use f16 with aim7m
And did gaijin mess up the tracking? Once pitbulled, the interal radar should override the plane’s radar.
You can make their missile eat dirt by abusing its predictive pathing
Give me like 5 mins so i can duel and you can compare how both missiles goes
As i said to the other guy. I can in about 2 weeks.
At least in my experience from stock grinding, the aim7m was more consistant at getting kills. The aim120 is much safer but i just dont trust it to the same lvl i do an aim7m.
Pretty sure TWS gives less accurate update than STT and the lock is more easily lost
Only reason to use TWS vs STT is if you’re guiding multiple missiles, right?
