AIM-9X for F/A-18C for USA

Meteor ?? on the American F-35?

The intergration has to be done in the US by Lockheed (which is why they keep dragging their feet for it) and they are using USMC F-35s because they are just more convenient. Might be enough to give the US a decent BVR missile in game technically speaking, but Gaijin might also just leave them with Aim-120D

yes

i didn’t say they will, i said they should. Gaijin hands US shit out like party favors “for balance.” If they had the opportunity to literally provide a 1:1 missile and they didn’t, it would only show how full of shit they were when they added the F-16AJ to Japan and gave every nation an American air subtree for the sole purpose of adding F-16s and F-18s.

Or perhaps the US, like Germany, will get a Spanish subtree with F-18s with IRIS-T.

Nah. US will just have to use Aim-9X. Just pray they give you block II not Block I.

When people don’t care about fairness, that’s when I say “F it,” add the F-22 and make it invisible to radar head-on.

Or I’ll just play Russia and drop KH38s on poor British players XD

I had an entire year of Tornado F3 vs F-16 with the only response being “Well, blame the RAF for not building a Gen 4 aircraft or buying one. Sucks to be you” So…

Frick it, We are now well and truly into the era of European dominance. I guess the US should have stayed part of the ASRAAM program instead of being cheapskates and just upgrading their Aim-9Ms

I would like to see the AIM-9X in the near future. But do we even need it rn?

I was a proponent of adding the Eurofighter to Britain like two years ago. The Eurofighter isn’t an issue in its current configuration. The Rafale is.

isn’t Tornado 4th gen?

F-22 cooks everything kinematically barring maybe the latest model of Su-57 in airshow config. since European dominance like you said, why not add F-22 to help poor USA out against ASRAAM and MICA-IR

Its a grey area. Some call it 3 others call it 4. Ultimately though its an interdictor with a A2A radar

Hey. I have no issue with fighting F-22s with Typhoon with CAPTOR-E, ASRAAM and Meteors, we all know that the stealth wont be modeled right

F-22 with AIM-260, APG-77v1, 9X blk2 or even 3/4 with HMD. stealth will be modeled to some extent like the F-117

hell, since you mention CAPTOR-E which is only in testing with RAF, why not throw in the Raytheon Peregrine AAM

latest model? airshow config?
the su57 in air show is an old prototype (T-50-4) with al41 (placeholder engines). they are making Su-57M with al51 which are much stronger

by that i mean greatly reduced fuel/engines tuned up

Technically, Tornado might be considered as one of 4th gen.
But thanks to flight characteristics, nobody expects a ‘standard dogfighting capability of 4th gen fighter’ from Tornado in this game. :|

My brother in christ… if the MICA IR (a R-27ET/MICA EM love child with datalink support; you can launch in BVR and it’ll pick up whatever the seeker sees later on) with equivalent or better performing IIR guidance is not in the game right now (as it should’ve been, as F3R Rafales doesn’t use Magic 2), what makes you think the lesser ranged cousin of it would be?

I get the Hornet is slow as balls or that USA players generally struggle due to airframe constraints and/or skill issues, but that doesn’t mean they should get preferential treatment to make up for the Hornet’s weaknesses in speed or any of the other reasons. It would violently upset the balance, as the Hornet is useless in BVR (unless your target isn’t paying attention) but is very good in WVR. If the air-to-air AIM-9X is to be similarly implemented the way the ground-launched variant is, it would basically be almost unflarable at close range.

Sooo…
Long story short,

  1. AIM-9X is an IIR missile, which is way too good to add to the current meta in the current game.
Even BVVD confirmed that it will not come out for the plane in this update.
So, there will be no chance for OP to get AIM-9X on ‘his F/A-18C’ exclusively in this update.
While other F/A-18 outside USA share the same problem.
  2. When AIM-9X is valid for release for the plane, when that time has come, AIM-9X will be the worst IIR missile, so there will be a chance of USA mains suffering even more
(unless Gaijin mindlessly decides to give AIM-9X as early-access IIR just like AIM-54 did :/ )
  3. Sadly, in Gaijin’s typical illogical logic, if American jets’ stats are reaching way too low, there is some chance of giving ASRAAM or IRIS-T because of nothing but compatibility(exported version can use it/they tested it)
  4. Favourite flavour of ice cream.

Did I summarise the topic well, or is there anything I should’ve added?

SAM vs SEAD argument

also tbf many other nations US jets get loadouts they never used so its only fair that if the jet is compatible it gets it (if necessary)
