Are you hallucinating? Is not that I disagree with you. I just never gave my opinion on the topic and you keep arguing with me for whichever reason.
You said the R511 was on another trash level. It’s subpar for its rank, but it’s not even the main missile for any plane that is allowed to use it. Building a comparison between the 7C and 511 is completely irrelevant.
You said the R511 is worse than Aim7C which is arguably not, both are borderline useless but the R511 can be used on an 8.3 voiture which works against tu-4 strategic bombers in a downtier, that’s all. I never commented about BR’s or balance. Just replied as a follow-up of you saying the Aim7C is worse than R511.
While 511s doesn’t have the best performance, it has a better seeker, and a better platform to guide it. By pure context, 511s are more capable to hit anything than 7Cs, that makes the latter automatically worse lol.
I disagree, the R511 pulls better but tracks horribly
pls go have some fresh games with the 7Cs before even trying to be compelling, i just had to play the Mirage IIIC during the last event on the grind for the Mirage F1C, and i had a pretty decent experience as far as i tried 511s for some 4 to 6 games.
Never had such with the AIM-7C, as the platform is directly another downside.

What was your range and aspect? Especially in sim it’s easy to launch outside of the WEZ.
7Cs are one of the worst SARH. Better than R3R, R511, and R530, but not really anything else. It needs a pretty short range and a clean shot.
The 7E though is a respectable missile. Still relatively short-range but agile with enough energy.

Any and every range/aspect, but the result is always the same: ‘power on’ message at bottom of screen, then nothing, nothing, nothing, no ACQ mode on the missile, nothing happens. I never get to launch because the missiles (7C/E) never even try to lock.
Most blatant case I was at something just over 7km in the F3H with contrail maybe a couple km above coming right over the top (probable Yak-28). Radar identified enemy easily and locked on; tried to lock the missile all the way until target flew overhead, but it never even tried to acquire. In such a situation a 511 would immediately go into ACQ and would usually lock - what happens after launch might be anyone’s guess, but at least the missile ‘works’ in some fashion. AIM-7s simply function as ballast.
Was probably for the best it didnt lock. That is a bad shot for something like the aim7c.
I have been playing a couple matches in it and the aim7c seems to be locking fine for me. I can get locks several kms out and fire. But i would suggest to not be doing shots outside of like 5km. The engine just does not give it enough energy.
It doesn’t even try to lock for me. Finally got around to re-spading the FGR.2 so I could test the Skyflash missiles, hoping that they would at least attempt to work. However, seems they can be added to the list of ‘does nothing’ missiles. Thought that was as much as I could do, but then remembered I have a MiG-21 SMT that’s been semi-spaded for years and I have a radar missile for that - the R-3R. Tried that in Test Flight and, what a surprise, the Russian missile actually goes into ‘ACQ’ when you fire it up and can lock onto targets, unlike those other missiles.
I can promise you, you are doing something wrong if this is what you think.
I agree. All of my missiles will at least warm-up. And they only have trouble locking when given bad aspects.
