You’re not gonna get a good seekerhead until aim 120 d, and a new motor till d3
regardless
C-5 would have better seekers than C-1
C-7 would have better seekers than C-5
and
C-7 on slamraam should engage target and deliver successful hit at 20km(which is impossible for even non manuvering target rn)
C-5 should pull harder and manuverability as well as range actually being better than A/B
it should be what was originally on devs(perhaps slightly less) but currently? Absolutely ass
What’s your source for that, I don’t have that info on my documents
say what you want but the C-5 and C-7 are severely underperforming
All radar missiles are, but the way gaijin implemented them, they’re just fine. AMRAAM is not special in any way
scroll up a bit
I don’t see anything too specific, that mostly says “improved guidance”, presumably talking about loft. Gaijin currently implements a hard loft and a time to target algorithm that determines maneuverability, so that wouldn’t change much for the missiles between c-1 and c-5 in terms of guidance
checking out a few docs all im seeing is improve electronic countermeasured and longer range tracking on C-7
Yeah, from what I understand, seekerhead won’t be improved till c7, and seekerhead will get major upgrade with 120d, with no new motor till d3. So we are stuck with this kinematic performance in war thunder till d3 or aim260
i mean im pretty sure theres a marginal upgrade on seekers, its just finding the doc that state it is borderline impossible ig
Yeah, I find it hard to believe they did changes without incorporating at least some form of software updating/seekerhead changes between most c models up till the c7. But as you said documentation for that is probably scarce at least unclassified ones
i mean
naturally
more range → in order to utilized require better/improvement on seekers in order to maximize performance
if not then → better manuverability at closer range
since more range = better flight profile/manuverability → naturally better flight performance at closer range
currently C-5 despite having better thrust and range vs A/B has borderline same/worse performance
and C-7 is just💀
More range does not equal better flight performance necessarily in terms of maneuverability. Stronger booster means more delta v which means turning radius is bigger if fin value is the same
you mean all amraams having an artificial nerf of double or more the guidance delay of any other top tier ARH isnt an issue?, or that they dont have enough fin AOA to pull anywhere near their statcard G load (normally seem to pull 20-25Gs)
Fin aoa is historical if I remember right, max g pull is usually achieved at very high speeds that usually aren’t achieved in a normal war thunder match. As for amraam having .6 delay compared to the .31 of other fox 3s other than mica, I think .3 is a value that gaijin arbitrarily gives fox 3s when their value isn’t known, ( although I’m pretty sure r77s one is inaccurate from what I remember), so I would assume .6 is from some document gaijin has on it, if not you can just find it from videos (which gaijin doesn’t accept as proof though)
ive looked a bit and ive not seen any documentation supporting either the fin AOA nerf or the guidance delay
I agree that max g pull is achieved at very high speeds however when launched from very high speeds eg mach 2+ I would think it would pull more than the 25ish Gs it does in game when the motor is about to burn out
In general, all aim120s are lacking in pull which was bug reported a year ago still no fix. AIM-120A & B - Performance against manoeuvring targets too poor // Gaijin.net // Issues
As in 27°? Or 0.27 value in game? The in-game value is the aoa in degrees expressed as a fraction of 90°. So the 0.268941 is ~24.2°.
If you have sources for 27° fin aoa, that could help a bit.
