Indonesian helicopters never had F&F missiles. This is a fake armament. Same with Taiwan. Realistically Japan doesn’t have options for them in their helicopter line if they were being accurate. Another reason SK should be in there. It’s such a strange decision to add the Indonesian apache and just put fake armaments on it.
Yes and no, the Indonesian AH-64E doesn’t carry them in service, but can use them without additional modifications. There’s also the Thai EC-645T2 (H145M) that can carry Spike-ER, despite not using them in service, and of course AGM-114L for the Japanese Apache but we don’t have MMW seeker missiles yet.
SK is probably still not my first choice even if you want entirely realistic armament. It seems like unnecessary conflict for something the Philippines could also do and much better fit the theme set by the existing nations in the techtree.
It’s no. They do not operate them.
A british-italian helicopter doesn’t scream east-asian production themes to me quite frankly.
They don’t operate them, but that’s not the full story. Gaijin has stated multiple times loadouts can be adjusted based on technical capability as well, and the Indonesian AH-64 has the capability to use these weapons. It’s not something that could be bug reported as wrong because of this.
Japan has a formal defense argeement with the Philippines, while South Korea is just another Asian nation that is aligned with the US, so it’s far more of a stretch. And if you really want to argue “British-Italian” here, Japan has closer military relations to both of those nations than they do to South Korea.
Add to that the fact that Korean players (the main target audience of the Korean nation in game) openly oppose the idea of their nation added to the Japanese tree, and there is absolutely no reason for anyone to go along with this stretch when there is other options available. Especially when those other options are from nations already part of the tree like the Indonesian AH-64E
Bruh.
If we were to stick to the most* realistic options of armaments for vehicles in-game, we would have the US, Germany, USSR, UK and even Israel bang lobbies due to the striking availability of ordnance and its capabilities. This game is a game, and it still needs to have a “balance” in order to keep stuff competitive and bearable. It depends heavily on IRL capabilities of armies, thus making everything realistic would leave the game with a strong countries with proper vehicles and weaker ones with little to no competitiveness, ultimately making them as “filler” content for challenges and so on.
*it cannot be absolutely realistic as a notion of a game itself implies a degree of unrealistic’ness
