Hello.
Just got to play simulator battle with the AH-6M and I have huge issues hitting anything without a sight in the cockpit.
Is that a mistake from Gaijin?
I mean, I dont think pilots in real life were eyeballing targets when they have CCIP.

Na verdade não pois o helicóptero é de ataque leve e um Rocket destrói a área de uma casa por é quase uma granada então soldados morrem
IRL ah-6 pilots usually used a dot drawn on the windshield as a sight the ah-6 doesn’t have an actual sight , but you can use the mfd as one if you need to
I thought they used their HUD to know where to shoot in modern warfare.
In the Vietnam Era I can see it work like you explain.
yeah the ah-6 kinda never really changed much since then.
Basically the AH-6M doesn’t have a HUD, there’s some reports I’ve seen saying that the pilots have a HUD built into their helmet like the AH-64’s but no real proof. But pilots often just draw their own sight on the glass to know where to aim.
It seems unreal that a top of the line helicopter and crew isn’t issued with such items, when they’re used for close air support.
top of the line yet it was used in Vietnam
I forget what it’s called (IIRC, ANVIS/HUD) but it’s just a repeater for the Flight instruments, not exactly a HMD / HMS. AH-6 is listed as the “MD-540”
In US service it’s known as the CHMD ( Common Helmet Mounted Display), and integrates with the AN/AVS-6 NVG set that pilots already mount top their Hemet for night flying, or a separate “Day unit” assembly.
That’s it yeah, remember people saying it was the same as the Apache HUD but I’d guess in-game it would work similar, just more simplified.
It was top of the line back then.
Is still in use with updated weapon systems, usage of Hellfire missiles etc.
Is that not top of the line?
