I’ve had this problem since getting the IR missiles. This thing just refuses to fire 60% of the time.
Most of the target is hidden by the hill, and so the missile cant lock on. Because it cant lock on, it wont fire.

I’d understand if it just doesn’t show a lock, but it’s showing a lock symbol as you can see. I can’t even fire when it locks an open square at times.
Looked like it was trying to get a lock, but didnt actually get a lock. Likely some buggyness with it only seeing the radar and not the main body of the vehicle
No it did get a lock, then it turns off after pressing the fire key. If it wasn’t locked, it wouldn’t have the crosshair in the middle of the square. Even so an open square without the crosshair should still enable it to be fired
Unfortunately it did got a lock however, @ileaveuptiers didn’t fired, it locked the second before he switched cameras. I think it’s a general bug with infra-red missiles, specifically anti-tank or fire-and-forge missiles in helicopters, been noticing similar events with the LMUR some times. If I stumble accross this unfortunate happening, I’ll try to record.
Unfortunately it does not show key presses but I was firing the whole time, even before the camera change. You can see it switch from seeker on to off. That happened when I pressed fire. I can’t replicate it in test flight or in helicopter pve, it never happens
The radar is a giant microwave. Shouldn’t the emitter panel be giving off a large heat signature?
I just got the Apache, and I also seem to be having this issue. It’s quite annoying because if the vehicle is partially hidden, it won’t get a lock at all. It won’t even switch to point lock.
I don’t know if other FnF heli is having this issue but I can do more testing with the Mi28.
Same happens to me
