Nice having gaijin forum fuck up the replies
Regardless, the system has to be realistic and it has to prevent the fcr from firing on friendlies

Showing them on a cockpit map isn’t enough.

Why does it need to prevent it from firing on friendlies. It will identify where the friendlies are. IFF doesn’t stop you from locking Friendlies.

Won’t show up on fcr. This feature is same as looking at a map in realistic. Dumb people won’t bother and will just spam these missiles.
Look at the apache right now and youll see how it is. We have it ingame.

I think you are really downplaying how easy it would be to avoid Friendly fire with it. You would have to be lazy with it. Especially if the FCR is modeled correctly to identify categories as it should.

Not that it would matter the real reason Gaijin won’t add it is because how quickly you could wipe a team so we won’t see 114Ls.

This is going to be mostly used by Americans remember 😜

I get TKed by the F15s all the time in SB

16 missiles, tracked vehicle, spaa, wheeled vehicles in radar
Spam them all and youll probably kill a friendly or two. A lot of mistakes could also occur. It would be a friendly kill heavy system

Getting TK’d in sim because someone didn’t read their radar is different than your entire team getting TK’d due to indiscriminate fire.

And the reason I didn’t mention your little thing about radar identification: T-72s and Leopards are in multiple tech trees.
Unlike IFF that sends back a programmed signal, I doubt tanks are doing that.

Guys. What’s the difference between the 114 Bravo and the Kilo?

114B not tandem, 114K tandem.

Funny you saying that when an F-15 has IFF.

Yup… KInda the point :D

Had an F-15A lock me up, fire an Aim-7 at me all the while I knew it was a friendly so I was defending and spamming “follow me”. I defeated it, only for them to fire a second. So just let it hit me.

But that more so goes into my point it doesn’t matter if the 64D has IFF into the like Nike is saying. You need to Identify the friendlies location and then target the targets not in a friendly location.

Yeah it does and that doesnt necessarily change just because of MMW. Im sure plenty would do the same with IR guided weapons as well

yes here it would matter if the fcr can iff because it is unlikely that missile spammers (apart from teamkillers) would actually target a friendly. it is just that if it has no iff the people who want quick kills by spamming missiles, then going back down on helipad and continuing have high risk of teamkilling someone unintentionally (despite being dumb)
absolutely won’t support this missile if most top tier tanks don’t have aps and there is a capability to spamfire against friendlies without iff
only system i maybe support is giving target to the 114L through visual with the camera system and as a nerf (due to smoke and tree ignorance) the time the system takes to fulfill the information gathering should be a bit longer than typical

The FRC and the TADS is able to be slaved too each other. One thing we should do in game but I don’t see. You should be able to pick a target off the radar and then use the TADS for Visual ID and vise versa. Slaving the FRC to the TADS was actually how majority of 114Ls were targeted in 03.

yes but a lot of people wouldn’t bother if its optional to identify target especially because it requires exposing themselves

Your argument is over player laziness. Needing to be agumented against when nothing in thw game exists that stops that already.

Morvran already stated how he is getting team killed by of aircraft with IFF. But you are saying the FRC needs IFF so it can’t lock friendlies. The IFF doesn’t stop the locking of friendly aircraft it helps with IDing friend and foe. Why do we need some make shift block when the IFF you are asking for doesn’t even exist already.

Yes hes getting teamkilled intentionally however with fcr and no forced target validation there will also be a large amount of unintentional team kills and this is something no one wants
It will very much add on top of intentional teamkills

If when your target an mark on the radar and the TADS slaves over to a friendly marker and you fire. There is nothing unintentional about that.
