Yeah I’m dumb and didn’t look at the bottom of the screencaps. :D
Because the IPM1 has a gun mounting/breach capable of using it, the AGS does not.
How can you confirm this?
A tank with a combat rating of 11.7 should have competitive armor penetration.
393 mm of armor penetration was not enough even for playing at 11.3.
Because M900 did not exist when the AGS was created, and there was no requirement in the AGS program that it should be able to fire high-pressure shells.
Nevertheless, the M900A1 was fired even from the M60A1.
This has nothing to do with the game.
AGS must either be lowered to a combat rating of 11.0 or issued an M900. It is currently uncompetitive.
The M60A1 is not the AGS. If you M900 on the AGS then find proof that it could use it.
But we’ve met the requirements for ammo, which is technical capability to fire the round(it fits in the M68 105mm cannon). as reliability and wear aren’t modeled. The capacity of the gun to fire again isn’t important.
And IPM1 is not AGS either🙈
It’s nothing to do with reliability or wear. Firing a high pressure round from a vehicle not rated to use it will either cause the recoil mechanism to fail or the breach to explode.
Even if the specific gun mounted on the AGS was able to handle the pressure from M900, if the guns mounting system isn’t set up to handle the extra recoil it will still fail
There’s not much to do here, since gaijin, in order to set the Br they want for certain tanks, only adds or removes ammunition models, even if they’re ammunition they’ve never used, depending on production dates or countries. Examples would be: The IS2 (1944) should have the BR-471B as its best ammunition. The SU-100 should have the BR-412B as its best ammunition. The T-54 should have the BR-412B as its best ammunition. Both the M60A1 RISE and the M60A3TTS should be given at least the M833. The Magach 3 (ERA) should be given the M111. The Shot Kal Dalet and the Magach 6M should be given the M413. The XM800T should have the APCR as its best ammunition. The AMX-30B2 Brenus should be given the OFL 105 G2.
These would be a few cases in which ammunition was added or removed solely because they wanted to give a tank whatever BR the developers came up with at the moment, leaving realism aside.
Honorable Mention to the case of the Magach 3 (ERA), which is Br8.0, is a tank from the early 80s and uses as its best kinetic ammunition the M392A2, which is from 1964. While the Israeli tech tree is the Magach 5, which is from the same era as the Magach 3 (ERA), which is also in Br8.0, but with the nuance that it carries its historical ammunition by dates, the M111. Which indicates that they do not always give and remove bullets to balance, they do it to annoy the players.
M60a1(rise) and m60a3 use the m68e1 gun instead of the normal m68 it’s labeled as in game
I agree that AGS probably should not get m900 but it should probably go back down a little in BR
I mean yeah, its good in the right scenario though, when your facing tanks like the t80s and 90s its a struggle just to pen their sides unfortionately, and with how Gaijin keeps moving it up I wouldn’t be against it getting M900 with how they keep moving it up. In the end it is a collectable tank that only a few players have and thats why its stats are so good. If they keep moving it up it should get it. Because theres no point in running it when you can play other lights at the br and lower that have way better attributes than the Ags…
So you want IS-2 1944 to be 6.3, M60A3 TTS to be 9.3/9.7, T-54 to be 7.7 again, Magach 3 ERA to be 8.7, Shot Kal Dalet to be 9.3/9.7, AMX-30B2 to be 9.0 - 9.3…
Those aren’t my suggestions, those are the consequences of your ammunition desires.
Magach 5 dodging BR changes like the TURM III is not the gotcha you think it is.
Good change. Of course, a change of ammunition is equivalent to a change of Br,although I don’t see that adding the M111 to the Magach 3 (ERA) means it has to go from Br8.0 to 8.7.The Brenus could perfectly well be a Br 9.3 with the ammunition it should carry, and the Brenus ERA would work as it does in reality, that is, 100mm protection vs. KE.
I only know that the Magach 5 is exactly the same as the Magach 3 (ERA) except that the Magach 5 has the bullet that it should carry and is a normal tank, while the Magach 3 (ERA) is premium and does not carry the bullet that it should. The Magach 3 (ERA) carries that ammunition because it was originally a Magach 3, so carrying that ammunition made sense, but after a while gaijin came up with the idea of adding the Blazer armor, which made it a tank 10 years more modern than the previous one. Regarding the Magach 5, since it carries the M111 it should be a Br8.3.
Even the M60 TTS with a combat rating of 9.0 has more armor penetration than the tank 11.7
I would rather the M8 AGS get the round it is supposed to be firing, M900, and move up IMHO.
Except that there clearly was, as the eventual “winner” of the AGS program the M8 did use and fire M900.
