Hello, im not sure if this is a bug or a realistic feature of the AGM65s but this feels like a gameplay issue where the AGMs do not perform as they’re required according to their stat cards.
The AGM65B has decent zoom but its fixed to one zoom only. According to the stat, the launch range is 23km but its missing a locking range. It is capable of locking a random spot 23KM away but it cannot lock onto moving targets until 5KM, which is 2s6 kill zone.
The AGM65D has terrible zoom and thermal quality. According to the stat, the launch range is 23km and it provides a lock range of 20km. I tested it and its only able to lock onto moving targets under 7KM successfully. which is within spaag killzone.
In this current state, the A10 is very difficult to use unless you fly low and suicidal. Flying this way defeats the purpose of the AGM since it needs high alt and speed to work properly and thus it is a waste of excessive SP cost.
Spaa players rarely move, i kill 2s6s and Rolands all the time by just locking the ground at 10km with the agm65b, and if they are moving you can lead them and launch at a point in front of them, when the missile reaches its lock range it will automatically lock.
I am lucky that most Spaags dont move, but for the ones that do is very difficult to deal with. If the AGMs had a very fast flight time then I can lead, but its too slow for a predictable result at 12KM. Dont even bother trying to fight the Pantsir.
Dont launch at 12km, launch at max 10 and get as close as 8. the 2s6, osa and roland do go up to 10km but at that range they wont be maneuverable enough to hit you if you turn away after you launch, as for pantsirs you shouldn’t be facing them anyway with an a10 (dont play the a10c in tank rb its useless)
All missiles have the range to lock on tanks shorter than their stated lock range which is only accurate for locking onto ground itself or big targets like boats.
I dont have the A10C yet, and I was hoping those payloads are much better. Sure doesnt seem that way though. 830SP for something that will live for 10 seconds without firing off an AGM is not worth it.
I do think the A10s need the BR to drop, but if they improve the AGMs tracking ability and optic quality then Its okay to keep it there.
Nope it has the same lock range on moving targets as the agm65D/G which is about 8 to 10km depending on vehicle size and cloud conditions. But what makes it broken is the speed of mach 2+ which means it can very quickly get into its lock range before the target can move out of its lock box
