Saying “More” and “US” in the same sentence is crazy, AGM114Ls are needed to replace the old and slow Hellfires and to deal with Pantsir and new SPAAs coming this update.
If they dont add it then spawning a Heli equiped with Hellfires going to be a free kill to AAs and pretty useless.
Because its gamebreaking and shouldn’t be in the game? Same things they said about the 114Ls, but when it comes to Russia everything is possible.
You don’t have any arguments so you start insulting. You gonna start flagging posts. And you gonna get angry again, because other people do not share your view, that usa should be buffed above everyone else.
AGM-114L is the weakest possible FnF AGM option for multiple nations, not just the US. Gaijin decision that MMW will not be modeled and that a reasonable placeholder for it is also unacceptable has left at least 2 nations helis (if not probably more like 5 or 6 nations) in a rather underperforming state. The Hellfire is a decent AGM for 10.7/11.0, but rather lack luster at 12.0 compared to stuff like the Vikhrs or FnFs like the Spike.
Even looking beyond helis. The Brimstone nations are rather majorily hamstrug by the lack of MMW modeling. Even the soviets have MMW weapon options iirc.
They need to model MMW in one form or another, they cannot maintain their “burying their head in the sand” approach they have currently adopted.
This is a simple fact.
Given the current state of top tier SPAA vs CAS. Its not all that surprising other nations want stuff that is better. Soviets have been dominating with both fixed wign CAS, Rotary CAS and SPAA for a while now and the only logical route forward for mutliple nations, US especially to get anything better is MMW
It would. Im hoping that if nothing else, the new SPAA will enable the Typhoon to at the very least get SAL-Brimstone 2s.
But at the moment, most nations are despeate for something to just counter the KH-38MT with and finally put an end to the soviet handholding theyve had over the last year+
Had nothing better to do, so I plotted the area around a stationary target that’d need to be empty for the AGM-114Ls seeker to resolve it for a couple of distances/stages in the flight path. Rayleigh criterion as limit, as before.
Altitude (and resulting angles) and flight time based on the flight profile of a 7 km horizontal distance, 100 m vertical distance AGM-114K launch.
Obviously doesn’t account for uneven ground, but it should be good enough to give an idea of what we’d be looking at.
Doesn’t actually look quite as horrible as I imagined, especially along the minor axis of these ellipses. The major axis is quite bad, but you’d also expect most movement along that axis (at least as long as the heli spawns are roughly in line with the ground spawn points), so speed filtering might help the most there.
It would still be very situational I think, and if you’re not careful you have a high chance of hitting teammates.
