oh yeah i dont doubt there are bugs, but randomly browsing the cbr site is just saddening
i smoke when i see the missile in the killfeed

Because damage.
Kh-38MT is inferior to MMW seekers, especially after LOAL gets added where Kh-38MT’s lock range drops from 14km to 1.5km.
Comparing superior technology to inferior technology is silly.
Just be patient. Demanding more CAS powercreep when we already have LMURs and AGM-179s is silly.
70% of the time or more.
many times
?
MMW doesn’t have that great of a seeker either. The Longbow Missile only has a ~3km range, and the Brimstone only 2km or so as per;
“ADA471298, The Who, What, Where and When of Radar Targeting”
So it’s not actually that much of an improvement if you ignore the launch Platform / supporting sensors & INS/GPS and only consider the terminal seeker.
And account for the actual performance of Electro-Optical missiles being overstated significantly CCD & IIR are roughly correct.
so still a fake?
Even if it wasn’t the documentation provided would only make it barely useful against Ships, Facilities and if charitable, Bunkers & Fortifications. It’s more than 16x worse (NEΔK of .270 and requires 16 grey levels to retain a target) than a WGU-10 (IIR maverick seeker) in terms of required resolution.
so still a fake?
In effect, but then so is practically every single seeker implemented in game, in a multitude of ways.
But based on what is known it is by far the worst offender.
where did you find the evidence for an ir version of kh38?
The existing 2024 Zhuhai brochure for it gives some datapoints for the seeker. Namely the sensitivity (in MilliKelvin) and required Thermal Contrast (in Kelvin).

no evidencce of it being build, while gaijin is saying no to fake things.
That would never happen though
No testing records/field usage as well. No concrete evidence of it’s seekerhead too, varies between mock-ups depending on a date. And what is giving out that it’s fake the most - the lack of propaganda further than a drawing of a paper tiger from rusian side.
LOAL is being worked on, this is a known fact.
Considering how buggy LOAL is on American ordinance like the AGM-62, I doubt it’ll be much of an issue.
Comparing a single part of the missile to another’s without looking at the bigger picture is also silly.
Yeah but everything we have with ‘loal’ is incomparable to stuff with proper loal/nlos capability
Kh-38 IR mode is to supplement it’s GNSS mode.
IR is not for locking targets 20-40km away but for the terminal phase like how Stormshadow works.
“Terminal guidance is achieved via interchangeable seeker heads tailored to environmental and target conditions, enabling engagement of stationary, mobile, armored, or maritime targets”
Taken from JSC Website (well UK one)
Terminal guidance not lock on from 20km
Gaijin have copied and pasted AGM-65 IR performance for every ground attack IR missile.
The Kh-38 is a frankenstein of a weapon, we have a Gen 3 IR seeker with no FOV limitations and the ability to track moving targets.Yeah don’t think so.
However means Stormshadow/Scalp and Taurus are going to be great in Ground battles.
