What are the chances of getting the AGM-114L Hellfire with actual MMW guidance? I am aware that gaijin said that they would be too powerful, because they can’t be countered by smoke, but what if they made smoke impervious to millimeter wave radar? We already have helis that can carry up to sixteen fnf missiles capable of one-shotting tanks. It’s not like it would be the first time they jeopardized realism in favour of “balance” or just straight up laziness. Just to name a few flagrant discrepancies:
Paper missiles (KH - 38MT)
Versions of missiles that never existed (single mode Brimstone, JAGM)
360° DIRCM (coding laziness)
Ordnance that is yet to reach IOC (JAGM-MR)
Ordnance missing (AIM-9X, JAGM on AH-1Z etc.)
ATAS missing variant definition
At the current point a helicopter like the AH-64D with it’s Longbow radar is pretty much indifferent to any other Hellfire carrier, the radar being pretty abysmal and useless.
Have you even read my post? How is the JAGM-MR being fired only a few times in testing irrelevant? So in your mind gaijin should add every single weapon that was fired in testing but never fielded? Where did i mention LOAL mode? I specifically mentioned MMW as LOBL guidance, similar to TV ro IR seekers we have in-game?
So exactly what I said?
Irrelevant to my argument, I was mentioning the lack of combined seekers especially regarding the version-split JAGM.
I get your point but that still doesn’t narrow it down, you can look through the bug reports and will find dozens if not hundreds of different missiles, bombs, rockets, pylons, version of already added weapons, some obscure modifications etc.
This report was literally compiled in around 10 minutes, hundreds of such reports could be found.
As you can see they are not even able to update the game based on verifiable and correct sources so they should really stick to building upon and fixing the weapons we have in-game instead of adding a dozen new ones.
So it’s not actually that much of an improvement if you ignore the launch Platform / supporting sensors & INS/GPS and only consider the terminal seeker.
And account for the actual performance of Electro-Optical missiles being overstated significantly CCD & IIR are roughly correct.
Even if it wasn’t the documentation provided would only make it barely useful against Ships, Facilities and if charitable, Bunkers & Fortifications. It’s more than 16x worse (NEΔK of .270 and requires 16 grey levels to retain a target) than a WGU-10 (IIR maverick seeker) in terms of required resolution.
