Btw, JAGM based on Romeo block 0, HOB was implemented in Romeo-2/Romeo Block 2, so… jagm must have a different system for HOB. But again, without serious arguments, this does not make sense
It’s not going to be that different, and with a similar warhead; the optimal fusing should be fairly similar.
Also as the JAGM utilized Hellfire Components & form factor, and (actually) predates the -114R-2. It’s fairly likely that it’s the other way around; where said features were backported to the -114R, to produce the -114R-2 sub-variant to take better advantage of the warhead for “area” targets.
No, I mean, instead of an HOB-optimized sensor, JAGM simply uses its ARH seeker for range-finding. Most likely, the AGM-114L-7/L-8A also uses this method, because on the same M-SHORAD and LCS Independence class, the AGM-114L has a new color, but at the same time did not receive any visible sensors for proxy fuze.
Would it be possible to attach this video to the following report, as additional info.
The important scene occurs at a timestamp of ~0:46-0:52 seconds
Also the fact that the AGM-114R-2 slide was rejected on relevance grounds doesn’t make much sense considering that it shares the warhead, and similarly has a “Height of Burst” fusing option to the JAGM. So would have similar terminal characteristics, as shown with the steep terminal dive in the insert.
This can be backed up by this slide, and the prior -114R-2 excerpt stating that the only hardware changes for the “R-2” is the addition of a HOB sensor;
Which is from
“JAGM Media Briefing”, February 20 2014, Frank St. John
there any updates on this, or are they just ignoring it now
Meanwhile JAGM brochure…

But, tbf, we already have a lot of HOB sensors which works vs air targets.
i dont quite understand what youre saying sorry
In a brief excerpt of the JAGM program, HOB is used to destroy APS-equipped vehicles.
would it be able to work somewhat like a tow 2b(except the double efps)?
Yeah, smth like TOW. I would even compare it with the Swedish ATGM on the Cv90 bill
Yeah thats a more apt comparison considering its a single warhead heat.
No, there is also a precursor and a main charge
really? i was told otherwise, is there something i can read to inform myself better on the bill? is it like on the tow2b to maximize damage? or is it to deal with era?
Just a tandem ATGM. To neutralize ERA. Probably JAGM can do that too.
ah i knew about the tandem, i worded it completely wrong.
I asked Gunjob after a week via DM, no update at that point. Three days ago I asked smin, got the following in response.
Still no update at this point.
wow, deny legit bug reports for no reason, and then say you will give the reason later but never get to it
why am I not surprised
looking at their reply, its stupide that they deny this when less capable sensors an artillery shells are treated as proxy fuses
