Because things are the way they are for a reason, and I like to know how things work and why they are that way. The reason why it is different is not simply “because Gaijin sucks”, there was a decision made that the characteristics of the game be the way they are, and I am interested in what that differentiating characteristic is. I can attribute the difference in spawn ability to the higher rewards in Air RB because it is an outlier in terms of reward potential. I see no other solid explanation why it is that way.
I have no better explanation than that. Sim (or even Ground RB) has less reward potential than air RB. I get that Sim SHOULD have more rewards because it is a higher difficulty game mode, but it doesn’t. By all means, if there is another reason that makes sense please explain it. Until someone can do that this is the best guess I have on why it is the way it is.
I get that you may not agree with some things I say, but if you have a problem with me then PM me and address it.
You were given a counterpoint you promptly dismissed from Corporal Apollo when he was correct. SB earnings are throttled, and RB provides better RP earnings on average. This discrepancy can even be found when looking at Heli EC vs Ground RB playing helis. It is quite a bit slower.
I will always agree that RB gives more rewards per action/time than any other game mode. I will also stand by that Sim is still great for grinding planes. It is the lowest effort way to grind planes in the game. I say lowest effort because in RB you usually have someone nearby to threaten you. Sim can be joined in a way that minimizes or completely negates that risk.
And you meant a powerhouse for low effort players. I guess, since that’s all most use sim for anyway. But it is not the attractive option. The earnings, both RP and SL for the amount of time in it is simply not worth using sim for.
I also mean a powerhouse for aircraft that aren’t quite viable in air RB. That’s why I said it favors strike aircraft. The A-7s are nigh impossible to use in RB, and the SU-25s and similar aircraft can do their job usually unthreatened.
How can we make it an attractive option without allowing the abuse of the system that can be done now?
The only flaw with SIM is player base is incredibly small but also because of limitations SIM should allow a lot more players, not the limit it only has but also bring in proper VOIP. Besides that though its economy most certainly needs to be reworked. So it gives more like it should.
What do you think would be a change to the economy that would be needed? Like a complete overhaul and a change back to rewards per action instead of time or what?
I couldn’t tell you, the idea of time-based isn’t necessarily a bad thing however it shouldn’t be the only system. Both somewhat would work better together than separately, Time though should be prioritized for roles ex: Bomber Escorting.
Incentivizing is what the time system should be focused on in general for those who do not care for that stuff. Is often the best compromise. If you want a little more then do your job. However, you’re still gonna get something even if you don’t. Unsure how Gaijin would implement it. Since the idea would atm be an infant. Since its a hybrid of both ideas.
By, I don’t know, reverting the changes that made it worse (useful actions)? The excuse made due to people abusing the old system is ridiculous, since if they actually enforced their EULA instead of blanket punishing the players (including the ones who played legitimately), it’s likely sim would see a healthier playerbase in that mode. Now it’s just a mode “for fun” instead of also having a good incentive to go into a harder mode.
