I pray for my irrelevant nation to be represented in War Thunder
Here is a clear image of the Somaliland 6616 with the Soviet rocket attachment, the rockets themselves can’t pivot up or down but can be rotated alongside the turret - the vehicle if ever implemented uses the same gun as the Marder, it should and probably would get APDS.
It could either go to the UK as we were their Protectorate for quite a bit and still have good relations with them, or Italy as the vehicle originates from them
Wow!! Your suggestion thread is incredibly well made, I’m really going to enjoy reading it fully, thank you very much!!
While i’m not a fan of putting a whole continent as a tree of its own, I still definitely support the addition of said vehicles to the game. And this topic lays a great foundation for studying all of this and discussing these vehicles. Bravo!
Of course there is copy-paste, it’s completely unavoidable, but I’ve tried my hardest to reduce it to a minimum (just look at the latter half of the Potential Additions section).
It also kinda depends how you classify copy-paste. Does it count all export vehicles, regardless of whether they’re already in-game or not? Because there are a lot of export vehicles but I think most aren’t in the game.
Just a quick run-through, these are the blatantly copy-paste vehicles (i.e. in game already and with very few, if any, modifications):
T-34-85 (base version)
M4A4 FL-10
Comet
PT-76B
IS-3M (functionally same as IS-3)
M47
T-54 (1949)
Digna (T-55A)
M48A3
Eagle (Vickers Mk. 3)
ZSU-23-4
Al-Bashir (functionally same as ZTZ96)
Khatim-1 (functionally same as BMP-2)
Ch’onma (functionally same as T-62)
T-90SA (functionally same as T-90A)
VT2 (functionally same as ZTZ96A)
VT1A (functionally same as MBT2000)
Tor-M1
M1A1
VT4
M1A2 SEPv3
21 vehicles out of 76, so 27%. High, but not the highest — I believe Israel has more proportionally. ‘Most’ is certainly incorrect.
I don’t believe technicals are suitable for suggestions anyway, so I left them out.
Not really imo, especially when none of these nations individually come close to any of the countries on-game in terms of vehicle developments. It only shines when they’re all together.
Besides, there’s suggestions for a Latin American tree, which is hugely supported. I’ll admit they have many more unique vehicles, but still.
Such a sad truth but like one technical with an SPG on the back will go a long way to making this a popular TT, after all dabbing on Libyan minefields is a favorite past time for Chad lol.
Anyways really well made suggestion! A very good curation of vehicles. I hope we can get to see more African representation in the game soon, the aircraft suggestion gonna be nuts to make lol
At some point Gaijin is going to have to revise the tech trees on regions instead of nations because right now its a mess and getting worse with each update.
I dont think i can without stirring up an off topic controversy to be honest. The idea of africa unified in any sense is just a bit amusing considering how international relations are down there
No, I mean, about you denying the comprehensive upgrades?
Because I don’t agree with the idea of a continent tree either, but nonetheless some of these modifications/locally developped vehicles are very good. The Egyptian and Algerian ones for example.
Obviously Africa isn’t united. I was just using the official African Union motto. South America isn’t united but a LatAm tree is highly popular. Taiwanese vehicles are in the Chinese tree, despite potential future ‘issues’. Etc.
Hardly. Olifant is a heavily modified Centurion, and the TTD was heavily inspired by the Leopard 2 (and only saw one prototype).
I think if you bothered to look at all the vehicles, instead of briefly skimming over the names (T-72!!! Must be a copy!!), you’d find most vehicles a) aren’t in the game, and/or b) are domestic upgrades or used only in Africa, even if developed by other countries / foreign companies.
Intresting idea, I like it.
Some of these vehicles definetely need to be added to their original tech tree first though, namely the BMPT, Yitian-L and FK-2000
This version of ARMA 8x8 likely has 600 horsepower engine. As far as I can remember only ARMA 8x8 came with 720 horsepower engine was showcased during İDEF 2021. It is not amphibious with higher GVW.
This version was base for RABDAN 8x8, which has 600 horsepower engine.
