The current ARB map looks like this, while it has grid zones helpful for locating targets, the grids does not give any information about distance and in extension, map size.
Given the large variations in ARB map sizes especially at top tier, it is very hard to gauge how much fuel to take by just looking at the map. Normally, this is alleviated by the use of drop tanks, but a number of jets do not have them (e.g. Flankers), or stands at a serious disadvantage if they are used (e.g. J-10A where the drop tanks take up weapon pylons). The grids also serve as a rudimentary rangefinder. If one is low on fuel, knowing approximately how far away the target/airstrip is would be incredibly helpful for fuel management.
Suggestion: add a scale for the map grid zones like the one on the bottom right of this GRB map screenshot.
