It can filter basic flares, Multi spectral flares were developed in response to IIR and can completely confuse the missile in the right scenario, theres even been IRIS-SLM in Ukraine fail because they went for countermeasures or ECM
it cant be countered by Multi spectral but it can be countered by volumetric flares, as i said it can filter out the flares out of the seeker dosent matter what and can distinguish between the flares and the plane as long as it keeps a shape of it, i havent seen a single video or report of an IRIS-T SLM failing so far

No multispectral does not work.
The only thing that works is volumetric flares only in the rear aspect, because they completly hide the plane behind the flares.
But multrispectral flares do absolutly nothing

Tell me, how does changing the spectral properties of a flare make any change it its shape or size?
Spectrally adapted flares are designed against multi color seekers like on the Stinger, but to an IIR seeker they are point targets like any other
