I can get, through simple tech-tree grind, a 10.3 plane at level 45 (almost got the F8U Crusader II unlocked).

This with Rank V Britain ground, rank III britain/japan/USSR/german air, Rank IV/V german ground, rank III Rank 3 USSR ground.

If I had only U:S air, I’d probably be around level 25 or so judging by what I see when I stat-check people on the enemy team while RTBing.

Level 63 for a 10.3 premium is very unrealistic. You’d need over three times the account level you get by single-mindedly focusing just one tech tree. You literally need to grind more to get a premium aircraft than to get one in the tech tree.

I feel people under-estimate how high you can get in a tech tree without levelling up significantly.

Edit: According to this thread, if I understand it correctly, it takes about 6.3 million RP to get the 2a7.

According to this:
https://wiki.warthunder.com/Ranks

6.3 million XP comes out at around level 60 (assuming XP is 1:1 vehicle research RP with all the modifiers.)

The 2a7 is 11.7

Edit:

Went into a ARB game at 7.3
There’s a level 20 on my team in a 7.7 TT plane
I shot down a Sk60B that’s a level 11 player, 7 hours arcade, 8 hours ARB.
My team had a level 17 in a F84B. 2 days of ARB.
Level 30 in a J29A on enemy team.

Anyway, reason I did that was not to check people primarily.
It was to check how XP works.

Seems to be XP = RP gain 1:1.

Thus!

Doing a super simplified calculation of “Take plane with highest RP cost for a given rank, multiply by amount needed to unlock next tier”. For the Ja37C, I just took its RP cost and the preceeding aircraft’s RP cost (260K + 350K).

Sweden, to unlock the 11.7 Ja37C without any top tier buy premium shenanigans takes at most 2.61 million RP - corresponding to level 35.

Variation of ±2 levels is possible with actually careful calculation paying attention to branches and realizing unlocking rank VII doesn’t take researching 4 J35Bs for 220K RP each J29F and J34 both only take 160K each, thus I’ve overshot the RP required by 120K here already.

Why calculate sweden? They got few aircraft and simple branch dependencies and not a lot of foldering. Foldering can reduce the RP requirement further, branch dependencies can introduce unpredictable RP requirements.

Like it or not, these people keep the game running.

And high level players can be bad too (although not denying that they are on average much better).

don’t forget that people who play toptier also have full sets of premium vehicles. Which doesn’t change the fact that a person who just creates an account SHOULD NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO BUY ACCESS TO TOP. This is just plain dirty against a permanent player base that has reached the top by at least hundreds of hours of play. Combined with their stupid balancer, my teams on toptier are 80% 1 vehicle premium garbage that die after max 2 minutes leaving me alone to face the opposing teams. And the more I kill, the stupider team I get.

Unfortunately, their greed knows no bounds and a lot of old players are fed up with it, moving to other games where they won’t have to be in the same team as people who just installed the game and spent $70. And there are plenty of them and they completely destroy the gameplay. Not only are there no new modes, but the teams are full of new players at the top of BR.

10.0 + should be completely blocked in premium content/squadron vehicles/events for people who haven’t reached this BR on their own and haven’t played at least a few dozen hours on it.

Every event with a new high BR vehicle causes this BR to be completely destroyed by new players who have no idea what’s going on around them. And I don’t accept the argument that “they are easy targets” because most of these people end up on my team.

Alternatively, completely remove the winner/loser reward and all tasks related to it, replacing them with a position in the team.
