Not actually, itβs on par with the AIM-120A/B because of the drag. That thing barely reaches 15β20 km.
Only if being fired in HOBS.
If fired straight on ,it quite happily beats Aim-120A/B in terms of range and has a better Time to target.
But given range is by far the least important attribute at the moment, Id gladly take a missile that excels at 15-20km but has limited performance beyond that, than one that excels beyond 20km but is weak within that range

Oh yeah, itβs good in close range, but after 10 km+ the AMRAAM is going to beat it. One turn and it loses all its energy. Anyway, they should rework the C5 that thing is even more useless than the R-77, lol. What were they even thinking?

go to xray view in hanger and it says 350km, which is the longest range of any top tier radar using this method

the su30sm2 is on the level of speed and acceleration as every other top tier jet, which is the only thing the original sm lacked, it has more missiles, and better missiles than the f15

the c5 has about the same range as the r77-1, while being completely horrendous at hitting close range targets since it turns much worse than the 120b/a, so asking for an even more modern missile for russia is just insanity to be honest
