True but still one can dream
yep
Why have you not grinded the British tree yet?!
Z-10 is in a good state, especially compared with how good other Chinese helicopters were before (Z-19 keeps dominating ground sim battles, btw).
I can understand the lack of a better RWR; it sounds strange on a top-tier helicopter, but everything else is nonsensical.
It has average maneuverability; the roll is good but lacks a little bit of pitch; nothing relevant compared with any other helicopter, but if you compare it with the Z-19, of course it’s worse; this one has handling that breaks the rules of physics, so it doesn’t count.
AT potential is also good; ADK-9 is faster and snappier; it’s easier to 1vs1 an AA compared to Hellfires; and then you have ADK-10, which is slower for sure, but it has almost 10 km of range and oneshot everything it touches.
TY-90 instead keeps hitting incredibile shots on my end by being kind of weak only on top tier jets.
Sounds balanced to me.
I don’t think it would be especially so, the MI-28NM is the only Heli that can carry it that is currently in game so with out the satellite link pod it can only use lock-on before launch which would reduce its range to the capture range of its seeker, to get the full 14km range it requires a 3rd party data link, so it would be limited to a similar range as other IR seekers. It also only has single or duel launch rails so it be limited to a max of 4 missiles on the MI-28NM half the number of other FnF helis.
It’s 50 m/s faster than Spikes but slower than PARS. And MUCH slower than Vikhr
It also “only” has a 25kg HE demolition warhead, no HEAT or tandem charge (at least not confirmed, and even the rumored one is on a the later Izdeliye 306 variant)
I don’t think that 4 lock before launch IR missiles with a 6 to 12 km lock range (there is no available information on the seeker range other than it’s less than the missiles max range, so it could be set to what ever balances it) wouldn’t be any worse than existing FnF.
And if lock after launch missiles are added later than either the AS-BPLA datalink pod can be added or the Mi-8MNP-2, KA-52M and MI-28NE with the integrated link can be added.
That all said it’s not like it’s urgently needed, but I think it would be a cool side grade to the Vikhr. But in my humble opinion we need better SPAAs more then we need more CAS options currently.
Yea that was an old comment. LMUR will be better than the current heli FnF missiles, however will lack heavily with quantity. No idea how it will be added
Yeah, I noticed I was zombie posting, but I just found the missile and was wondering if it was worth making a suggestion for it as I think it and maybe the NLOS Spike for USA (I don’t know much about those though) if implemented with only lock before launch would fit fairly well at this point or at least within the year. I found an older suggestion and this thread so I thought I would just add my 2cents hear rather than start a 3rd topic on it.
From the first image, it can be understood that an LMUR can be suspended on 4 underwing points on the Ka-52M. But do not forget about the APU-L dual launcher, which is shown in the second image, and with it the number of missiles increases to 8.
Question is, can I bring a load of Vikhrs and four LMUR.
Seems possible seeing how two can be suspended from a single hard point.
So far, such a scheme of suspended weapons has not been noticed in real life, but in theory it is possible. I am sure that it is possible to hang 2x Vikhrs and 2x LMUR, but about 2x2 LMUR (APU-L) I’m not sure - it’s a matter of size.
Dunno about Vikhrs but the MI-28NM can at least carry quad racks of ATGMs on the inner pylons and LMUR on the outer:
Which raises the question of why we are limited to dumb fire rockets on the inner pylons in game… must be that Russian bias I keep hearing about! I might put in a bug report when I have a bit more time.
inner pylon weapon is Igla
Ah ok, then the ones in game are on the wrong pylons
Although this is a newer variant it appears to have the Vikhrs on the inner pylon
