Except the F-4E, because it’s perfect at 11.3
(Except it ought to have a late variant with the F-4F cockpit (which is more accurate for the type of weapons the F-4E we currently have carries), 9L, 7F, and pave spike / tack with LGBs and AGM-65D/Gs
I was thinking of adding the F-4D to replace the F-4E at 11.3, then reworking the F-4E into a later production block with improved missiles and air to ground weapons. The upgraded F-4E could sit at 12.0, while the F-4D fills the 11.3 spot. This would modernize the F-4E without adding another copy paste aircraft to the game.
I’d rather the 11.3 F-4E stay where it’s at, maybe add the F-4D foldered in with the F-4C at 10.7/11.0
And then folder the F-4E/Late in at 11.7.
The F-4E late model, (DMAS, or ARN-101, or whatever) is almost what the F-14B is to the F-14A.
An almost generational gap of improvements to weapons systems, navigation equipment, multi-sensor integration (slaving AGM-65D/G to Pave-Tack LOS, Pave Tack and TISEO LOS slaving to radar and vice versa)
and ive flown and spaded the 3 tech tree ones and the F-4S, and the C of the 4 is the most enjoyable to fly, at no point did i compare them, only mentioned that the C was my favorite to fly, as it is also my most flown, but i do end up flying all the phantoms mostly the same, only real difference is what alt i sit at when i do the initial climb
You literally replied to me and said that “these aircraft” would need to get AIM-9M and AIM-7M to go up BR. You have an option in your poll that asking if they should get it.
The F-4S should go up, it doesn’t need AIM9Ms to make that happen.
I also don’t think the J needs AIM-9Ls. It’s fine as is and if it got them it should also go up.
You’re either rage baiting, strawmanning every point I make, or you genuinely don’t understand what I’m saying.
I don’t want that to happen. I was using it as an example of what the aircraft could receive if it were moved up in BR to keep it balanced and competitive.
This suggestion isn’t about giving the aircraft AIM-9Ms and AIM-7Ms.
Having read this again, your logic makes even less sense. The F-4S and F-4J just aren’t that strong anymore, especially in the current meta, where more and more aircraft at and around this battle rating are receiving better missiles.
We’re probably not going to agree on this. I think your opinion comes from having a rough time fighting these aircraft. Ironically, giving them AIM-9Ls would actually make your own stock grind the F-4J easier.
If they added ECM even f4c would have some sort of ECM antenna
