it should be seperate im guessing
yes, ADATS sight should absolutely be removed from the gun.
In addition to preventing it from being stabilized US ADATS has limited elevation to the guns max while the sight can point vertically.
I think this all could be pretty easily fixed by changing the primary weapon to be the missiles and the 25mm to secondary. Only downside of this would be that the controls will be kinda screwed up.
But I mainly want those radar changes… larger elevation coverage, TWS and 3rd person cueing would be such a QOL improvement.
yeah the radar will be the biggest change, especially if they make the IRST lock more reliable
then ADATS might actually be able to reliably intercept munitions so you wont have to go back to the m247 for that
does adats has gen 2 thermal? i think it should have it no?
No
As it uses the similar optics to the AH64A, no. But the AH64A should get worse thermals as it currently has gen 2 when it should be gen 1, but it’s for balancing reasons.
To be fair the Ah-64 had a considerably higher resolution FLIR than say an Abrams tank. FLIR generations are resolution of heat, not pixel resolution. The Apache had a gen 1 thermal with 809 pixels in the vertical so in Warthunder it should actually be a gen 3 to have the same resolution.
Well, it’s Gaijin we’re talking about
Same deal too, the pixel density of all “gen 3” Russian sights both aerial and ground based are around gen 1.5 at best based upon their pixel density and resolution, given all are 640x512 or lower.
One thing that has irked me for a while is how badly the gun on the US ADATS is 3d modeled, the location of the rotation axis is clearly wrong. For some reason Gaijin made the rotor a box and when its clearly round and placed the center of rotation offset from the gun barrel when it clearly should be inline.
US ADATS gun rotor axis is in a historically wrong location. // Gaijin.net // Issues
let me guess, this one is gonna be fixed soon while all the others will be ignored
Lets hope it gets fixed.
id much prefer the one about cuing targets from radar, the one about radar search angles, or the one about IRST range/weather resistance get fixed first
maybe even unlinking the sight from the gun so it doesnt have gaijins bullshit artificial elevation limit
That would be very nice too, but some things need to change first for that to happen.
Not really, the contrast is slightly different on gen1 in game but otherwise resolution is all that is different between in game thermal sights.
Yes, but irl resolution does not matter. What gen of TVD something will get in game is based on technology used.
I know, but it doesn’t always reflect the capabilities of systems, to use such broad categories.
I think they do it because it is easier to find a marketing brochure that says generation, than the probably classified resolution
