ADATS, what Gaijin got wrong

Ooo, very nice. That makes things easier.
Well, if nto the fact that ranges now conflict. But I guess it has to do something with limited power while mounted on ADATS.

Unless the max range in the adats brochure refers to specific target detection, not instrumented range. In game instrumented range is used, so that would be a buff, but more proof (not janes, and not my books, as Gaijin was kind enough to make all 9 of them supplementary) would be needed.

Not sure if this would be useful, but here’s the MIM-146 rocket motor performance data. This data is from AIAA 90-1862.

As a trivia, the minimum smoke propellant used in this motor is similar to those used in TOW-2, WASP, Hellfire, and Chaparral motor.

Why is the missile twitching?

It will be, as Motor burns for 2s

But how would that data translate to in game.

someone else should make a bug report, as if i make another one it will probably be ignored or classified as not a bug report as always

More about TWS 20 targets

Also, it says the acquisition range is “25km+”. I still think that the X-TAR25 is the radar used in the ADATS, although its brochure states 28 km max. range. Well, one day we’ll find out

I guess that will be a hit. The range will be kind of conflicting, but i will work around it.
Can you link me up the whole brochure?

That is like the ugliest and the simplest manufacturer page i have ever seen

Ok, got it myself

Apparently, the missile is modeled with a booster and a sustainer. Using this spreadsheet as a base, it seems to be the case for the MIM-146. In real life, the MIM-146 does not have a sustainer. It is just a solid rocket motor that burns for 3s

I belive this would be the sustainer in action (?)

I will try to report this later

This is not a sustainer. I checked with the files and in game. It has only 2s of motor burn, then it starts to slow down, and the tracer, that is the thing seen here, burns to the end of the flight.

Spreadsheet is wrong here.
No sustainer here

(it should not have it bdw)

Thanks. I’ll try to report the burning time, then

Does MIM146 even reach 7 km ceiling?

Aside from this source, the other one from the manufacturer also says the ceiling is 7 km. More interesting is the intercept range being 10 km, which makes me think that the actual range of the missile should be higher and not limited to 10 km (and also ceiling being 7 km makes it weird that the total range would be only 10 km)

As of now 10km is all we have. It might be more kinematic wise, but nothing as of now stating it.

Another thing worth noting, is that some sources state intercept, while other say missile range.
In that case it is possible that battery life is a limiting thing. Missile might still have a decent amount of energy, that allows it to still effectively engage targets, but the battery makes it self destruct.

Radar report out of the way

Hey would the improved and correct radar would be able to track munitions like kh38mt and other guided munitions like the panstir can? Would be a game changer

I do not know anything about that sadly.
At least not directly, I might try to work around it.

looks like it got accepted 👀
