Can a close range SPAA fight tanks? In the 1980s, the US military was seriously considering this possibility. It could track up to 10 targets, not 8. It is also incorrect to the first iteration, that could track 6.
Also kind of ironic calling it SPAA, when we all know how it is in game.

Yet in WT the two ADATS are still considered TD’s not AD’s, which makes using them for aircraft kills related tasks useless…

Can’t this get corrected or - even better - a new system be devised where a vehicle can have multiple roles? This is more and more important the higher up in tiers one goes (fighter vs.attacker,…).

ADATS should get Gen 2 thermals and/or Gen 1 thermals should have their resolution/clarity increased just a bit so it’s not just a fuzzy view of snowy pixels. Specifically for the ADATS its thermals are effectively useless for trying to find air targets that wont lock or are outside of its radar range. The RU SPAAs like the 2S6’s and the Pantsir’s thermals are wildly better than the ADATS’s. And if the ADATS will never be considered a “real SPAA” then the US needs a new SPAA that can be useful at top BR’s.

Technically ADATS should be gen 2 TVD, as it does output on 875line, 808x606, so well within Gen 2 limit.

It was only converted to TD because it was ridiculously OP back then and was too cheap to spawn as SPAA

Surface to everything, huh? Dunno man, the missiles stink when used as ATGMs and they don’t really shine when it comes to their performance as SAMs either.
Give them the SAM role back and let them scout.

Also, why is the US ADATS at the same BR as the UK ADATS? The gun is a massive advantage.

Still the US need a TOP TIER SPAA, ADATS is considerd a Tank Destroyer (that if the missile doesn’t kiss the ground), also when i try to use it as an SPAA its garbage.

And these gun limits sight dispersion, when UK doesnt have any limits. And smoke grenades can counter any TV/IR missile except Kh-38MT

By a whole 1 degree. its just placed higher on Bradley, that is why it seems much worse.

I mean, when u use sight and try shot a plane at high altitude elevation will limited by gun angles, not launcher.

Oh that, yea, thats right, currently sight is tied to main armament. They would have to do all around game change to fix that.

Also gun depression. Can do -10° but the launchers limit it. Also there’s some very large spots on the hull that should be able to depress the launchers yet it can’t.

Gun limits it to -9, but -10 and -9 is not that big
