Ace crew is predatory period

Tbh i think I have like 5 planes expert, among those are probably the Lancaster and Halifax… I just don’t care. Those sweats that are out to get you are using ridiculous planes in the first place, so acing the crew will not save me anything.

The monetization strategy in this game is very heavily focused on frustrating you until you pay money. Ace crews play into this in a clear way: you have a long grind, but you get discounts at the 50% and 75% mark. If you keep getting screwed over by something like G-Tolerance, or aiming speed & quality on a tank with poor gun handling characteristics (a la Chinese 8.0 MBTs), you might not want to pay the full price… but after so many games with this frustrating experience, seeing the discounted price may start to look reasonable. Stock grinds work the same way; you may not want to pay 400 GE to unlock a module, but what about 50 when it’s 75% done and you could be having so much more fun with the dart instead of HEAT-FS?

Using my original 40 GE I started doing this when I only had to pay ~ 4-5 each time. Of course this wasn’t for top-tier vehicles…

I would love to be able to reset my crew skills after all the years Ive been playing WT and wasting points on pointless skills…

Why do you play the game, since you apparently don’t want it to exist at all and just whine about it??

Actually…the repair cost is the MAIN thing i try to get…but i think the difference between ACE and EXPERT is small. In THIS case EXPERT is well worth it…
The other two are “useful”…but in most cases the difference will have no effect on macth outcome…as an example…the 5s replacement difference will have effect only if someone shoots at you during that window…which does not happen often.

Bear in mind…IT DOES have an effect…but i take it as a way to keep free and paying customers happy…and i don’t feel a “paywall” that often exists on other games…i usually don’t even know who is Ace and Expert or less…in game.

I meant the basic crew training, because that’s where the main problem lies. Gaijin made it unbearably slow, literally forcing you to spend at least a couple thousand GE on accelerated training.

Well…that is higher in the food chain i assume…up to BR6 or so, Expert crews were the rule for me…and not hard to get…
Like many things in game, costs rise steeply on the higher tiers…i also prefer it wasn’t so steep…and actually think it is keeping lots of players away from top tiers…i know i can’t play 9.0+ games regularly…

Like i said above…someone did the math (on the devs side) and decided costs could be steep…i see lots of players around stating they play top tier…so i assume the math makes “some” sense…even if i (we?) don’t like it…

EDIT:
To be clear…i can agree costs of some stuff are too high…just saying it isn’t “predatory”…IMHO
