Account transfers

Has everyone really forgotten by now that, for several years, we’ve been left without any information whatsoever regarding account transfers from consoles to PC?

The game is absolutely crammed—and forcibly stuffed—with a constant stream of premium vehicles that are flooding the battlefield, making the experience simply tedious and exhausting. We have long known that Gaijin does not listen to its players. The company has fully committed to a path of profit maximization, much like Wargaming once did with World of Tanks and other titles. That approach led to World of Tanks’ decline, leaving it clinging to survival by a thread; now, Gaijin is doing everything it can to ensure War Thunder meets the same fate.

Now, to put the final nail in the coffin, they are changing their policies and terms of service to completely strip players of the ability to freely express their opinions or point out egregious errors. The latest ban on “hating” their game or paid products—and on discouraging others from purchasing them—amounts to an attempt at censorship and the penalizing of players for exercising their fundamental rights.

To get back to the heart of the matter: for years, players have been practically begging for the return of account transfers from consoles to PC. People rightly argue that there is absolutely no point in continuing to play or spend money on the game if they lack access to the full store, the better offers available on PC, various bundles, a wide range of vehicles, and the Gaijin Market; it makes even less sense to unlock event vehicles if one cannot buy or sell them, or access the skins and other content available there.

Saving the best for last: Gaijin actively runs events for premium bundles—for instance, on their Discord. Tell us, Gaijin: what is the point of this hypocrisy and favoritism? Why do PC players have access to these activities while console players do not?

It’s laughable that Gaijin takes us for fools. This problem has existed for years—not just weeks or months, but years. How long do you intend to show us that we, as players, are worthless to you and that you couldn’t care less about our opinions or requests? You won’t get far with that kind of attitude toward the player base; the consequences are already visible. Even more ridiculous is the notice on their website regarding transfers, telling us absolutely not to contact support about the matter because it only extends the wait time for resumption. We’re supposed to “wait for an official announcement on the forum”—haha. So, how long? Until the end of time?

Perhaps it is finally time to take seriously the game that millions of people are already playing every day? Maybe it’s finally time to take seriously the game that millions of people play every single day? The truth is, it costs you nothing, yet you keep making excuses about alleged difficulties in communicating with console companies—it’s bordering on propaganda.

As for the claim that PlayStation pursues an aggressive policy regarding such matters—and is frequently at odds with Gaijin over them—perhaps it is time to speak up more loudly about it? PlayStation is yet another giant whose recent behavior suggests it is heading toward a slump in profits. The truth is that things can get done at companies like this almost at the snap of a finger; we all know that well. We also know that such companies simply couldn’t care less about the consumer—they don’t treat us as human beings, but merely as sources of revenue. It is high time to change this reality. It isn’t just about trivial issues like account transfers, but about how people are treated by companies that are supposedly run by people, too. However, that is a topic for another place, not the War Thunder forum; PlayStation has been a major source of controversy lately, and it is currently facing a reckoning from its own former customer base :)
