2. Weaker tank roof (half of the turret has 20mm) (less armor = easier to overpressure)

• One of the best HE shells
• 2 small areas of 30mm in the turret.

And that’s why it’s many times easier to kill some abrams with pressure on some t80 than vice versa. No hidden modifiers or secrets here. It’s just the way mechanics work.

No side protection increase is seen in the T-72B3/['89/'90] package. It’s quite literally as armored as the T-90A, if not less due to weaker composite.
Gun handling is irrelevant to survivability. Do not derail the topic.
