That’s because it is designed around that time, not because it is used on XM1. You can also clearly see the 120mm GUN ROTOR text on top of the image. You can even compare it with the photo you posted above.
The thickness isn’t important. The placement of how far forward it is important. We can figure out how much armor is missing from the component between the Nera gunshield pack and the Rotor.
This gets bolted to the rotor
and the front nera gunshield gets bolted to that
This is without any additional armor and the XM1/M1 Trunnion modeled in game
- If we go by the XM1/M1 version, then it’s way thicker since the trunnion is much thinner.
This is with the missing armor added to the xm1 type trunnion (I think this is completely wrong)
This is why it’s important to know how far forward the trunnion face sits
The additional armor would be something like this but matches the curvature of the inner gunshield pack
So your using a photo of a (proposed) 120mm breach which would have potentially been fitted to the XM1 (but never was)… Meanwhile there’s actual photos of what’s actually fitted to the abrams which completely contradict that? I don’t understand your point…
Ohh well I’m convinced… i guess I’ll pretend the other photo’s don’t exist.
If you still can’t belive it then just don’t.
But the truth doesn’t change and you’ll never see what “you want” in game.
This is why how far forward the trunnion matters, the red depicts the armor shown in the first photo which is missing in game
I had modeled it for the XM1 trunnion in the bug report thinking that it was correct but the trunnion is much more forward
Mate you’ve posted a photo with zero context, or explanation are you actually for real?? Believe what? you’ve explained absolutely nothing… You’ve posted a breach assembly… Ooooo… Now what’s your point? Why don’t we start with that…
If you have solid proof that photos I posted are wrong then why not just post it? Put a picture of that “real” rotor you’re saying and boom you win. How does it look like inside the M1A1 or M1A2 Abrams tank? Is it any different from what I have posted?
This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.
What should I explain more? The rotor is not that thick, and I’ve proved that the design from XM1 project drawing is used in M1A1 and M1A2.
It’s honestly no surprise why the community gets so frustrated with gaijin with responses like this.
Guys the only thing that matters is how far forward it sits. That’s it.
The extra piece of armor is what I made the thread about.
I drew in what the newer trunnion should look like in black. The red filled in section is what is missing in-game
That’s literally what I’m asking be explained in context to the photo that was posted.
It was a reply for OP assuming the trunnion to be thicker based on its visuals.
I made the assumption that it was thicker, it wasn’t, it’s hollow. It was just an observation I made but it makes sense since the gunshield backing is bolted to the trunnion
Can we address the whole point of the thread though? lol
That’s the rotor. This piece of armor that bolts to that is missing in game
Basically this is in front of the rotor but behind the composite
