The M1A2T is not in any other tech tree.
I’d recommend playing right now, I’ve played 19 games in my HSTV-L today and gotten a 74% winrate, largely by facing Russia with their hordes of premium andys in T-80U-E1’s.
Seriously, I’ve had this HSTV-L unlocked for years and never really played it for whatever reason, decided to give it a try and stock grind it today and it’s been fantastic.

Also, Dated =/= Bad.
Those Soviet designs (referring to the T-80, T-64 and T-72 here) were among (if not the very best) the best designs at their time of introduction. And if destruction via mines and drones are your criteria for what makes a tank poor, then you’d have to apply the same judgment to the Challenger 2, Leopard 2 and M1A1 which have fallen victim to the very same weaponry.
People really sleep on the HSTVL I personally think its better than the Abrams. If only they gave it its proper round it would legit be the best tank in the game IMO.

How so? Are the Armor values different? Are the major shapes and designs different? Does it have a different gun? Different power train?
“New hull and new turret” is incredibly vague. I’d like explicit and undeniably concrete AND direct proof. I’m not afraid to say I’m wrong. I just want to know before I do so. And saying “New Hull and New Turret” does not do that.

That’s good to know. I like the HSTV-L, but I actually don’t think it’s my favorite tank at Top Tier. Call me crazy, but the ADATS is my thing. Id take the Mediums, the ADATS, and one of the new AMRAAM SPAAG instead of the HSTV-L. But maybe I’ll give it another go.

The only thing really different from M1a2T compared to other Abrams is just the low-profile crows; aside from that its all minor cosmetic changes like the mudflaps on the back. It’s basically copy and paste there is no new turret and hull
Fantastic. So it’s Copy Paste. CROWS doesn’t matter when you’re commander doesn’t exit to fire the gun.
Again. I was not against it because of some crazy “US is the only nation that deserves anything” subplot. I was against it because it’s Copy and Paste and that sucks. It especially should not go to a tech tree that won’t let their vehicles be copy pasted over. That’s hypocrisy at its finest. But at this rate it’s aside the point.

That’s probably why they aren’t.
Right now it’s very solid, with the sole downside being inconsistent/poor post-pen damage, if it’s post-pen damage were made to be equal to M774 (or any other longrod APFSDS) it’d be consistently one-tapping everything.
That’d probably make it the new king of top-tier vehicles.
A lot of people complain about the lack of penetration, and historical accuracy aside for the moment, I don’t even mind it nearly as much as the lackluster post-pen damage.
I basically spaded the thing in one day, that means I could finally do some mobility tests with it and the results are nuts:

@CmdrVince From my understanding its just 3 tons lighter and lacks TUSK and LWS. Those are the only differences. Its legit in the name, a copy paste taiwanese abrams. (I swear to god if another chinese player complains about the name, ITS LEGIT THE NAME OF THE VARIANT)

I’m not sure, VT 1-2 might beat it in some aspects? There’s probably also some vehicles I’m forgetting about.
I can only test vehicles which I own/have spaded. I’d love to test some premium vehicles (like the 2S38) but purchasing them for the sole purpose of that chart is kinda wasteful :P

War thunder players when the tank with a smaller more experienced userbase has a higher k.d, while also being on the side less likely to deal with LMURS and Kh38s truly shocking results.

That’s exactly the point though: The skill level of US playerbase is generally poor and that’s why the US M1’s have consistently shown mediocre stats globally.
The tanks are among the best MBT’s in the game, but that’s not what many of said US players would have you believe.

also important to note that there is a big difference between matchmakers
abrams is good when you can shoot a target very quickly and dont have to aim for small weakspots; and guess what kind of vehicles top tier china normally fights against

The HSTV-L is indeed better than the Abrams. It truly lives up to its name.
The amount of survivability it has from the front is insane, even from the side, if they don’t 50.cal you. The only thing that keeps it from being the most op vehicle is the lack of ammo and nerfed shell pen/rof.
Like I said, I’m fine with the RoF and penetration. It’s the poor/inconsistent post-pen damage that’s holding it back the most.
I also wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s better than the M1A2, it’s different and will suit different maps better or worse than the Abrams IMHO.
Now that they tryna blame the basket is as if they don’t already sucks hard at playing them before the addition of basket lol
