So I just got my first Abrams and of course every round I play with it is dogshit because of the sharp br jump from 9.0 to 10.7. I do want to know how terrible upgrading the Abrams will be since its starting ammo is HEAT and probably cant pen any mbt from the front? Idk if thats actually the case or not but i have a feeling it is.
hitting the turret ring or the badly protected lower frontplate is the way to kill many tanks in this high br frontally. if not just get kills shooting the side…
Ima be honest until you unlock M774 you’re going to suffer. M735 is really lackluster at this BR, so don’t feel harsh on yourself for performing badly until you get M774.

Nearly all high tier/top tier tanks suck in their stock grind. Its unfortunately one of their revenue streams as it makes people buy GE to boost/skip the grind. Stick with it though the Abrams at 10.7 is fairly solid from what I’ve heard.

105mm HEATFS at that br spells disaster, the Leopard 2 and T series had it easier on stock grind as they start with more powerful HEATFS due to bigger cannon, I suggest that you play more defensively like hull down, and only engage light tanks as HEATFS will have a higher probability of OHKO against light tanks compare to APFSDS. Or if you don’t mind spade it in ground assault, or at least get your M735 it take only one game if you have premium.
