About VT-5 tank

So, under which topic can we report this situation?

Initially, we believed that Warthunder treated Chinese vehicles fairly, and we wanted to trust in this. However, after raising numerous issues, it became evident that Chinese vehicles were the most problematic. Disappointingly, these vehicles were also the quickest to be taken out of the game following the submission of bugs. We hope that the game developers will pay closer attention to these concerns and understand the frustration of the players, rather than blaming them for their dissatisfaction.

War Thunder Official Inquiry:
“Is there verified data confirming the VT5 light tank has a turret basket but lacks protection against both Chinese standard 5.8mm and 12.7mm ammunition?”

First, I would like to express my gratitude to developers for their efforts. But still, it must be pointed out that the last test server update and dev blog left a large number of Chinese players feeling humiliated (not exaggerating). It is hard to imagine that the gaijin developers, who developed hundreds of different vehicles, could make such absurd statements as “the front of the VT5 can only withstand machine gun fire.” More surprisingly, the comment was subsequently deleted from the dev blog.

Haha, buddy, your words really made me laugh my abs off! How do you know that the VT5 in the game is the “most accurate”? Did you sneak into the VT5 design department and get classified protection data? Or are you actually the “soul designer” of the VT5 and personally participated in its development? 😂

You’re not even from a country that operates the VT5, yet you can make such an “authoritative” statement. It really makes me wonder if you’re a clown hired by Gaijin to liven up the atmosphere and bring joy to everyone! That said, if you really do have detailed information about the VT5, why not share it and let us have a look? Otherwise, your words can only be considered a “master of humor” level performance! 🎪

Anyway, thanks for the laughs, and I hope you keep up this “confidently clueless” style. After all, the world needs more laughter! 😆

As a Chinese player, I would like to express my gratitude to the developers for their work on Chinese vehicles. However, it must be pointed out that the current implementation of the VT5 in War Thunder is unacceptable. The reality is that those responsible for developing the VT5 have arbitrarily added a turret basket based on their own imagination, thereby compromising its armor - while staff in the issue reporting section have dismissed a substantial amount of supporting evidence and labeled all related reports as “not a bug”. This essentially reflects both arrogance and professional negligence.

While errors in developing new vehicles are inevitable, they should not be as egregious as those seen with the VT5,which have disappointed many players and made them feel they are being treated unfairly. I believe both players and developers share the common goal of improving this game, which is why I sincerely hope the development team will genuinely consider player feedback. Best regards to all involved.

Maybe when Gaijin decides to make a premium version of VT5, then all related bug suggestions would be accepted instantly, lol

No, it’s not that I’m angry—I’m just deeply disappointed with the developers’ performance.

@THE_SHOREKEEPER

So because I don’t live in a country that operates VT5 I cannot say it potentially has inaccuracies?

Prove to us that VT5 in War Thunder has no inaccuracies, I’ll wait.
Your post says that stating VT5 likely has inaccuracies is wrong, so disprove the claim we all made.

I’m not addressing the strawman argument your post invented to argue against yourself with, only your claim that my post stating VT5 potentially has inaccuracies that I support being corrected is somehow wrong.
Cause that’s the only thing I said in any authoritative manner.

Unless you want to address a different statement, like proving that there’s any video game out there with a more accurate VT5 than War Thunder, cause I tried finding any 2 years ago to play among my top 5 favorite light tanks in the world to no success.

Please focus on VT5 in this thread.

And please use English language here. I am simply hiding all posts in language other than EN, so please, if you want to add something to the discussion, please use English language only.

We have National Sections available for you, if you do not speak English here:

And please, no need for such offtopic like:

i love you

I love you all (as long as you are not breaking rules ;) ), so if you have any personal messages to me, please use PMs, do not post them here creating offtopic.

Thanks

Finding those photos help.
Collect all the unedited photos you can that show in a bug report alongside other documentation.

LFP to at least 30mm would be nice.

Thanks a lot

Thanks

The most pressing issue now is that the armor performance of the VT5 in the game doesn’t even meet the “resistance to machine gun fire” mentioned in Dev.(Not to mention that this point is not even mentioned in the dev versions of the other two languages; it only appears in the Russian text.)
This is completely unreasonable.
However, despite such weak armor, it has a weight higher than 30 tons. If calculated in its most basic state, it should be around 28 tons.
The sides and front can be easily penetrated by 12.7mm machine gun bullets, and even the rear of the turret can’t withstand some 7.7mm machine gun fire. This has even led people to mock this vehicle with the phrase “the turret basket is more useful than the armor.”

Oh, I apologize, the translation might not be accurate.I will rephrase it.

Use Deepseek for Chinese-to-English translation, as this AI provides more accurate translations.

I am using DeepSeek, but I haven’t enabled Deep Thinking. Also, I’m really not familiar with this forum ui.Also, you must be the one who was searching for the J-7D thesis with me before, right? You deleted me on QQ, qwq.

After re-editing.
A mistake is a mistake—there’s no excuse. You can’t justify accepting a blatantly inaccurate model just because “nothing more accurate exists.” Similarly, how do you prove the VT5 in-game is correct? Prove it actually has a basket (you can’t even provide a photo of the basket)? Prove its armor can’t stop 5.8mm rounds (can you show armor that thin)? You can’t prove any of this, yet claim “it’s accurate.” Isn’t that absurd?
