About the new Damage Control in Naval

I think the upcoming damage controll mechanic is not the way to go for naval and the game in general. I know nobody cares and gaijn will roll out the feature just because they allready put work into it.

But, i dont think the new feature makes the game or dmgcontroll better, it makes it more automated/botlike and is not necessary. The only reason the put a dmgcontrol on high prio, is in case of a ammo fire or your ship got hit by multiple torpedoes and you need to fix the holes before sinking to fast. I think it is better for the player and the gameplay if you can just say directly what you want to prio in the moment dmg happens.

My idea is to keep it simple and dont add a new layer to the system that can cause new bugs and keep it a bit more interactive. Why just add a function that, if you double click the dmg contol you want, gets prio and the other repairs wait until this is finished.
You can even set it to stg+ your dmg controll to prio it, just let the player do it manually.

Gaijin says it is to hard und cost to much time to do that for the player, i regularly fall asleep waiting for my guns to reload and anything smaller than cruisers doesnt need dmg controll anyway they just die.
Naval is getting more and more a autoclicker and i would like to preserve at least some skillcheck

Edit: The reason im mad and wrote this is, because i think damage control should be an importand part of naval battles in warhunder, there is not much more going on.

The new system is simpler than the current system.

Having a priority system makes sense. Naval ships aren’t crewed by 1 person, yet right now damage control is exclusively decided by 1 person, which is unrealistic and clunky.

Im waiting to see more details before forming an opinion. It will aid in some respects .like rapidly dealing with a fire before automatically moving onto flooding then general damage without manual control.

I normally already run flood and fire on auto, so having this extra element is kinda nice. Though I do hope the configuration options provide plenty of flexibility and player choice is permitted

From what I could understand from my reading, the current naval damage control system do follow some priority, giving the players decision of which should be focused first is a nice Quality of Life improvement, I just wish ground vehicles had similar mechanic where you could either provide priority to modules related to the fire control, weapon integrity or mobility.

Kind of weird, I did not think the current system was difficult to manage as is. If it will help people enjoy the mode any better, perhaps new players, then I guess It’s okay. Not something I was interested in or thought we needed.

We already have automated repairs if enabled. This just seems like the same system with extra clutter in my opinion.

They keep killing the gameplay element first with auto-aim and now this… Overall it wont change much for players, but will help bots/afkers to be alive little longer. I have no major issue with that introduction per say, but there’s so much more important things that needs to be solved like balance, game objectives, game breaking bugs (for example: inability to lock players after respawn) I am having it like every 10th game.

I think its just sad they think this is really needed and players want this, they should focus on more important stuff and improve the mechanics to give playes more to do in battles, with some skill check.
Its like adding fully automatic gear shift to race cars so the drivers can focus more on driving lol

I would like to see something similar for tanks (modular repair)(who don’t want?!), because:
Why i need tracks without engine?
Why i need engine without tracks?
Why i need fire system (gun breach and other system needed for normal fight) without autoloader or without ammos
and similar situations when you to run and not to shoot and first that repairs horizont + vertical without gun
Now everything repair in same time, but most of time it’s either 40 sec (depends on crew repair lvl) of repair everything or 40 sec of repair tracks + gun breach, so i mean max time repair without visible reason
